    I'm really tempted to get an electric car but the battery range just keeps me from getting one. I travel from Cardiff to Nottingham quite a bit and couldn't do it on a single charge. And am not spending 50k+ on a flipping car!

    But voted hot as a decent price for what it is (edited)

    Consider getting a Hyundai Kona 64kw or Kia eNero 64kw

    Both cars are genuine 300mile plus range on a full charge.

    In the summer my Kona 64 was getting over 350 miles on a full charge

    Don't forget all EVs (even ones you've had for years already) will start paying road tax thanks to the Autumn statement, and with the cost of electric going up and up, there's less incentive now to buy so I think we'll start to see more and more EV deals. For longer distance stuff, and especially if you can't charge at home, a diesel sill makes a lot of sense, especially if you don't do much urban driving.

    electric would have to increase 10x at home rate to cost the same as filling the petrol car on average with the electric alternative, just food for thought.
    Also anyone who bought an EV to avoid £165 a year tax was a fool already lol
    ive gone from a petrol civic to a electric mokka on 1st november and ive saved about £80 this month on overall car cost.

    Hi, this has been posted 3 times recently. The first time by myself and it has been cheaper at 25300. Although this isn't a bad price in itself.

    These are getting popular with the taxi trade and from what I've heard they're well put together and the range is very close to the official figure.

    They've just come out, not enough time to become popular with the taxi trade, most first wave deliveries have an oil leak on the motor, bowed/malfitting aero trays and a fair proportion also have lumpy/bunched seat seams - check out the MG forums. Efficiency wise (related to range expectations), they're on the low end of average - again, lots of multi car test reports confirming this.

    Test drove the Trophy version yesterday, my first experience of an EV. Pretty impressed, it's a lot bigger than I thought. Built to a price, some hard plastics about, USB ports are below the floating centre console so find by feel rather than by sight. My main gripe was the touch screen info system which was very, very slow and didn't always recognise being touched,
    Overall impression, given it's the first EV I've driven, I was impressed just not so sure I could live with the slow touchscreen though.... (edited)
