Wait for the Shamesung and Ar$eple snobs to post "camera is rubbish, no this, no that". Even though they have never owned, or seen, a Xiaomi. I have three in my family and adding another would still be cheaper than ONE of their bloatware-filled £1000 excuses for a phone, that the battery would be shot after 2 years

HAHAHA Mike. No disrepect to you whatsoever, either. It's all tongue-in-cheek. Plenty of admiration for your posts too!

1 year warranty or 2?
Argos says 1 year in product detail but xiaomi support page says 2 years.
I think it's 2 years if you buy from Xiaomi direct, or from select partners. Argos website says 1 year only though. Either way, I like to save £4, as much as, more than the next person but I'd still prefer a 2 year warranty direct purchase from a manufacturer, although JLs warranty is excellent too imo.

Argos cheaping out saying one year warranty if mine breaks after a year and Argos refuse to do something about it I will seek revenge on Argos
Mi 8 lite from Argos and other Xiaomi phones show 2 years warranty, probably Argos messed up the facts on this one, as they do quite often , argos.co.uk/pro…755

Manufacturers warranty has to be same irrespective of which retailer it is purchased from. So long as the retailer is authorised and not Joe blogs on market stall.

Poco or dis?

For me dis but I don't need more than 64gb so can manage without an SD card and can cope without a headphone socket,(the cheap 99p eBay adapters work fine with this phone I've had one) plus I prefer the mi8 amoled screen, AOD is a nice touch that I've got used to, and I want NFC as I like to use Google pay.
According to Argos website "Not available for home Delivery" and "Collection is not available in any of our stores".

Got some Bluetooth ear buds on the way so don't need the headphone jack. Better wireless when I'm cycling too. Think 'dis' may be the one for me
I'd be wary of buying from Xiaomi direct. There were reports a few months ago of people buying stuff from Xiaomi directly receiving empty boxes upon arrival.
The Mi9T Pro is fast approaching.
Holy cow that's a lot of phone for £200

Do this support 5g!?
I was thinking of buying the Honor Play , I was going to wait for the prime sale next week and see if it was reduced then.
So, this or the Honor play ?
Which one is the better camera ?

I think that's because of the courier they use as opposed to Xiaomi themselves. I'm awaiting a phone from them and they use a company called collisimo, who when you check reviews are absolutely atrocious! I think they average 1/5 . It's shipped from France but when it reaches UK its handed to DPD. Will take around a week to receive as is my experience.

Hopefully on Monday I'll get a phone and not a set of business cards as one reviewer posted on trusted reviews

It's 2018 device bro, and there ain't much 5G that needs supporting at the mo.

That happened to some people on HUKD last month. See comments here< and here<.
Silly question but is there any benefit to be gained from ordering from either Xiaomi or John Lewis? It would seem that John Lewis has a better long term reputation in the UK but I wasn't sure if there was something else in the Xiaomi offer that made it possibly more attractive?

Thanks in advance.
