Where is the deal here? The newer version Mi A3 is £129.Mi A3 £129 EGlobal

Which has less RAM, half the storage, an inferior screen and plastic body by the looks of things. And eglobal etc.

Both phones have their plus points.

Great phone. Picked it up when they had that crazy deal the other week, they were selling it for £139 instead of £319. Bargain.

From what I've been hearing of late, the Mi A2 is arguably the better phone.

Yeah, the A3's screen has a much lower pixel density and it's plastic - the A2 has a metal finish and higher pixel density. The A3 does have a headphone jack and expandable memory though. It all depends what you're after in a phone, I got the 128GB version of the A2, there's no way I'm surpassing that but people may have a ridiculous amount of photos and music so a micro SD card would be a necessity for them.

The A3 is not so much as an upgrade, more of a sideways downgrade.

Just the T9 is a cracker.
Can anyone comment how this phone compares to the Honor 10 (not lite)? Mine hit the deck at the weekend Was hoping to just buy another as I loved it but it seems to have been phased out.

Better processor, better GPU far superior camera front and rear. Not really a downgrade is it.

the 665 CPU has better support for cameras and sound quality that's it,

GPU is about the same,

the biggest let down of the A3 is the network support cat6 + CA2 the A2 has cat12 + AC3.

and obviously the lower resolution screen.

I'm afraid you are mistaken. My A3 is METALIC and built extremely well (even has a nice weight to it because it's made of metal). The screen is GREAT, not sure the exact pixel density but I can tell you it's amazingly crisp (OLED of course). I also love the camera (OK it's no Pixel but for the price it's VERY good... triple camera on the back BTW). Finally I enjoy the screen size, as the phone is a little more narrow making it so much easier to use with one hand. I own many phones and the A3 is by far the best phone quality/ price phone I have used to date.

I also have the A1 and can easily say the A3 is miles better. Love how they added the headphone jack back and the exp memory is very nice too (or use dual SIM if you prefer).

wow you are a hater... again I have the A3 and cannot understand why you would suggest such a thing. It is an upgrade and VERY VERY well made. Keep in mind that at phone sizes, the screen pixel count really becomes irrelevant after a certain number.... oh and the battery life on the A3 is stellar too! Love my A3.

I'm glad your liking you phone, it's just I'm really disappointed with the networking and screen with the A3, I get your point about the resolution, but when the next model in a series of product not only doesn't improve some aspects but actually downgrades them, that's disappointing, I think the redmi 7 note is more of a succeser to the A2.

When I was a lad all this was feilds and you were lucky to get a smartphone at this price point to last a day. ( actually about 2 years ago)
In a nutshell there are pluses and minuses to both the A2 and A3. No doubt many of us where disappointed by the A3's 720p screen as that was without doubt a daft backwards step by Xiaomi. But the A3 does have Samsung's Amoled display which helps in that area. It also has other pluses which make it a great choice for many people.

I bought an A2 for my son, he absolutely loves it, coming from an old iPhone. I will buy the A3 at Christmas time for my Dad, he can't tell the difference between SD and HD on a 40 inch TV, so he won't be phased by the A3's screen at all. No doubt he will just be happy to have some storage space, coming from an 8gb, well actually 5gb by the time you take into account the OS on his current phone.
Terrible phone...
Hi, Would you choose this phone or the other deal on this website for note 7?
Can you detail why? I can't decide. thanks
Can someone advise what is the Xiaomi equivalent to the Huawei P20 ?
I'll throw my hat in as an A3 owner and say it's a brilliant device. I'm usually very fusst about screen resolution but the fact the A3 has an OLED screen more than makes up for it.

Both the A2 and A3 are great phones for different reasons, I just don't thing the extra ram this will never use and the storage is worth it for most.

I am totally baffled by the Xiaomi range, and these are just the UK models: mi.com/uk/…ist

I'm looking to upgrade my Oneplus 2, as the batteries old, it's starting to do the whole mysterious android slowdown thing, and I wouldn't mind a better camera.

Redmi note 7 has a 4000mA battery,
The A3 has a 4030mAh battery,
So yes it is a smaller battery not that you would ever notice,
Don't mind MIUI, just install nova launcher on your phone.
Decent phone for the price.

You need to familiarise yourself with the differences between Android One and MIUI however not a bad phone for sub £100 value hunters. It also has a completely diffent camera set up.

Where are you getting it from? eGlobal currently have the 128gb ver. for £190 with a 2 year warranty. I'm tempted.
Was so close to buying the mi 9t pro with the new smart and for £399 but gonna hold out in hopes they bring the cc9 pro to the UK.
Hmm, I'd go with this order, best to worst. No doubt some will disagree, and it's not every phone they do, there's not enough space in the internet for that list
