Mi Box USB Ethernet Network Adaptor (ASIX Chipset) @ Ali Express - £2.20

Hi all, Just got my Mi Box today and wanted reliable network performance. I ordered this from Ali Express as it has the ASIX 88772 chipset which is compatible with the Mi Box 4K.

Note this is used to connect to a network cable, which connects to your broadband hub.

Note: only adapters with ASIX chipsets work with the Mi Box 4K. The unix kernal on the Mi Box has embedded drivers for the adapter. I found this out from my own research on the kodi.tv forums, so thought I share this with you lot.

I can confirm it is working fine with my Mi Box 4K.

This also works for android devices, windows pcs and other devices such as Android TVs.

Ordered on the 21st of Jan and it came today.

How timely, I was just looking at USB adapters. And prefer this kind of design with a cable rather than the solid ones which look like giant USB drive.
Any idea if it is supported by build-in drivers Windows (7/8/10)?

EDIT:
Seems that's a yes for Windows 10 for the AX88772 chipset

Note for Windows 10 users: Drivers for the USB2-E100 and USB2-OTGE100 are … Note for Windows 10 users: Drivers for the USB2-E100 and USB2-OTGE100 are pre-installed in Windows 10, and there is no need to download drivers here. Just plug in your adapter, wait a moment while the driver is set up, then access the network. If you have any problems with this, please contact us at [email protected]

Is there any similar LAN & USB hub using the ASIX 88772 around?

Cant seem to find any confirmed and the USB is critical for me with the Mi4k!

Mines plugged into a 3 port USB hub I had spare, the hub plugs into the mi box and it works fine. I added storage to the hub and the mi box sees it. The thing to not the mi box only has USB 2, so USB 3 devices are wasted.

I was looking for something similar to this (but USB2). Cant seem to find anything confirmed chipset wise though.

I have tried a cheap hub I had lying around but it kept disconnecting (like was a power issue) but it was like £1 hub

I've moved away from the MiBox at the mo for a main box but would like to get it up and running properly as AndroidTv and emulators/gaming is pretty good on it!

I am using mine purely for kodi streaming tbh, I have now plugged it directly into the mi box and it seems to be pulling around 4mb a sec. through the hub it was dropping to 1-2 mb. Latency is much lower compared to Wifi

I bought it to replace my OSMC Pi for the added extras of Android (games, emus etc) but the initial release was too buggy for me. Awaiting the 7.0 release for full bug fixes but was hoping to get a LAN/USB hub to keep everything a little neater.

Needed a hub as I would need a USB for internal storage and I have another USB which is my 'universal' Emustick.

With 5.0/6.0 I still get WiFI dropouts (hoping 7.0 fixes that) so was looking for a AIO solution for USB and LAN.

Received mine today.
As expected it works in Win10 without any drivers.
I bought mine from DX as Ali Express don't take paypal:

A bit more but got here quick which was good.
