It may not have a siren on it but it will at least turn the free light bulb on so the burglars can see what they're doing!

Can't work out what you get. Even the website has no product description. Looks good in the picture though

from the photo:
1 x hub
2 x door/window sensor
2 x human presence sensor
1 x push button

+ the bulb
So it's a wireless security system?
Does it plug in to UK plug and work on a uk app?

Yes. Though in some situations change the location to mainland China. (Can't remember the exact reasons for this tbh)

The gateway has an audio system built in that can play an alarm and give you notifications
Syarting to make sense.
Well.... its not only for security. In fact security might not be its strong point given that there is no external alarm.
This is a home automation starter kit for use with the xiaomi mi home app.
There are a ton of possible automations you can do in the app, or by integrating these devices in (for example) home assistant.

Possibly, but this is a good price taking into account the free bulk and UK warranty.
One thing I didnt see is whether the hub/gateway has a UK, EU or CN/AU socket.

lacks the Yeelight which is worth paying the £10 extra for imo
I started out on the home automation route with the Xiaomi hub and window sensor, but changed to a Smartthings hub with the various Xiaomi sensors from Gearbest, because of the frequent disconnects from the China server, plus I wanted to use some ZWave sensors too.
But, now they have a German server, maybe that is available for this hub.
And if it's got the developer mode, link it to a raspberry pi for offline local processing.

Yep agree - £10 for the bulb is a good price. But just for the kit the £59 at CCL seems good. BTW I didnt search hard - might be available cheaper in UK or via CN sites...

Yes, I'm using Hass.io, a ZWave usb stick, Raspbee, etc, just pointing out that the Samsung was the next step along.

Currently using these for a year. They do not work if you choose uk or europe as location apart from the bulb. The others have to se be set to china server.only them they will show up in the app.
Do xiaomi do standard UK spotlights/downlights? I don't think they do gu10s but even if they did the whole unit with the light built in I'd have a look. Could do with a few for a few communal areas

I have this set from the UK store and they work fine on the EU Servers. However my Yeelight from China only works on the Chinese one. So I cant have both in the same app annoyingly.

I am using Home Assistant so didnt matter in the end. Need to set up the Zigbee on a Conbee stick now do depending on the gateways is gone. But Quality wise they are a well built KIT and XIAOMI has now opened a store in Westfield London aswell..

As far as I know you can pair Ikea tradfri bulbs to the Mi gateway.

Definitely these mi/aqara zigbee devices are fantastic value. well designed, well made, good performance.

The westfield store is fun but you can only buy the kits. I would love it if they stocked all the individual sensors.
Anyway sellers on aliexpress can deliver these to UK in little over a week at very good prices.

Note that I have no practical experience of this.
All my yeelight bulbs are on the Singapore server.
all working fine.
tempted with a hub, but would prefer the 2019 one with HomeKit support

And really folks, read all the Xiaomi posts over the last year or so, just stock up on cheap Xiaomi sensors and bulbs, but use Smartthings or Home Assistant or openHAB, etc on a Raspberry Pi. Keep your internet connections to a minimum or totally local.

I bought a set about 2 years ago from a Chinese website. The hub doesn't seem to work anymore, I still have the sensors, will they work with a ZigBee hub?
Great kit from Xiaomi. I've used it for a couple of years and it's rock solid, and really powerful if integrated into home assistant

Yes true mate. I usually buy from banggood.
They are quick and very good service. Extra 60 to 90p depending on the item can get it to you faster under a week. The other good stuff is sonoff too. I tried to post a bangood deal with these stuff lately and i was told i cannot post thier stuff anymore due to restrictions here.

It turns on and lights up but the app doesn't detect it. What sort of ZigBee hub would I need to get? I have a Philips Hue Hub, Echo Plus, Google Home. Do these have it built in?

I always used the China server.

I've noticed that the Echo Plus does have ZigBee, but I have no idea how to add the Yi stuff.
