They’ll be selling Captain Tom Turds next!
All good. If only we'd thought to fund the NHS properly in the first place, with sufficient stockpiles of PPE for predicted pandemics, though?
It's worth noting that the money raised does not fund the NHS, it goes to NHS Charities Together providing wellbeing and welfare packages for individuals. There should be no political agenda surrounding this.

I figured as much, just can’t believe they haven’t made it blindingly obvious 😁
Cheese fest.

I think its fantastic what the guy has done but im led to believe that these funding groups take 8% of the net amount in charges. Also there are only 3 people controlling the funds in this charity and where the funds go to and there are limits on what they can allocate it to.
Now in the paper this morning they are saying that Ventillators are the wrong approach to treating the virus and that a CPAP mask only should be used to for treatment to provide oxygen to the blood which is being starved by the virus like being in an aircraft that suddenly loses compression at altitude which causes a similar effect. The death rate using ventillators seem to be around 70% so not good.

Just venting....sorry
The walk yes, but not this. Kind of spoils it.
Other streaming/download choices are available from Michael Ball's website - basically Apple or Amazon

Can't get this image out of my head now haha thanks
Part of the problem with stockpiling is that a lot of PPE has a useful shelf life particularly face masks and you could end up dumping millions or billions of £ worth. Its getting the balance right and having the right crystal ball.

In PPE Gear? Oh I forgot we haven't got any left total scandal !!!
Sad state of affairs when a 99 year old war veteran performs stunts to raise money for a taxpayer-funded institution starved of cash because for no other reasons than political idealogy and avarice.

That £21m or so is the equivalent of paying for those 3000 private sector beds for just over week. I don't even think they've been used, yet, but they're still being paid for by the taxpayer.

We deserve far better.
Shoot me now....

The NHS is funded extremely well, the problem is the size and inefficiency that comes with large public organisations. It's easy to just blame funding (no matter how much they get). Same with Nurses pay/benefits, for the job they do and the skill level required it's very fair.

And demonstrates perfectly how publicly funded organisations waste money. Private healthcare paid for with public insurance is the only way forward.

You’re brave. You don’t hear many people calling for the NHS to be scrapped these days......

And private institutions DON'T waste money, is that it, aptly-named?

No.

What private institutions do is lose money hand over fist, and go screaming to the tories to bail them out with public money.

They have starved the NHS of desperately needed cash in order to make it appear as though privatisation is the only answer,.

Then they'll sell it off (to themselves) and make a fortune at the expense of John Q Taxpayer, who'll end up paying twice so these already fat cats can get fatter.

Privatise the profit, Nationalise the bill.

'The only way forward' indeed.

It's already political. Why haven't my taxes been either adequate; or if they have, wasted? Why has there been a need for fundraising to bring in equipment that wasn't already in place? (Not just PPE , what about things the begging bowl's always out for - MRI machines, for instance?)

And some people would like to know how/where their donations are being spent.

Also, what would you say if you were to discover that the director(s) of this particular charity is/are being paid more than the PM?

Would you demand that he/she/they take a paycut? I know I would.

You could of course say the same about a lot of military equipment. Doesn't stop us spending billions on stuff we'll never use.
Michael Ball never misses an opportunity, does he?
Worthy cause but could have at least put Tom's name first if he's going to ride on the back of his current fame.

By putting this disclaimer in, your making a political point, which is that our govt has severely neglected our NHS, left it underfunded and handicapped.

Nope, not a political point, just an effort to stop people (not just here) politicising the genuine efforts of a 99 year old gentleman.
