POTTY TIME was a popular and beloved UK television puppet show that began in the 70s and was the wacky creation of the multi-talented writer/director Michael Bentine. Universally vertically challenged, the Potty hand puppets were characterized by their prominent noses and costumes that obscured their other physical characteristics. Bentine's beloved show, which was geared for children but boasted an adult audience as well, offered a challenge to accepted notions of many aspects of life and was regarded as harmlessly rebellious. The highlight of POTTY TIME usually involved a mini-explosion of some kind, as Bentine knew this would delight the kids at home.
MICHAEL BENTINE'S POTTY TIME SERIES 1 has numerous extras including an interview with Bentine's son, Richard and an additional commentary with some of the actual puppets used in the classic program.

Lovely - Just Lovely!
I had almost forgot about this....

oh yes ! what a memory blast.... do you remember the assault courses that he used to make and the footprints in the sand ! lol - great stuff:thumbsup:

One of the few kids TV programmes that used to be on ITV. In my opinion, it was avant-garde rubbish that I could not understand at all (but the I was only 5 or so, and I didn't know what avant-garde was either). My main memory is on footstps appearing in a sand-pit, high pitched talking and explosions.

Very peculiar, I'll pass.
