Product description & features

Michelin Pilot Sport 4The Michelin Pilot Sport 4 is a high performance tyre, developed with input from BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Porsche.

Michelin have designed the Pilot Sport 4 tyre with dynamic response technology - their use of Aramid and Nylon in the makeup of the tyre helps to ensure that the tyre is continually conforming to the contours of the road, delivering the best traction available for the conditions.

The tyre's tread compounds has been derived from Michelin's extensive experience in key motorsport events - such as Formula E and World Rally Championship.

The Pilot Sport 4 has a tyre compound featuring a unique blend of elastomers and hydrophobic Silica which helps the tyre to remain flexible - delivering excellent wet grip and reliable braking performances. The tyre's wide longitudinal grooves work to disperse surface water from the road surface, reducing the risk of aquaplaning.

Michelin tyres last 5,000 miles longer - find out more.

Ultra-reactive tread pattern design adapts to the road to provide an excellent steering control
Wide and deep longitudinal grooves for top performance in wet conditions
Consistent performance over life of tyre

Deal is for tyres, fitting is something extra, as they have more 'extras' if you need them ( see photo in previous comments ).

    So its cheaper for 2 x 2 tyres than 1 x 4 tyres?!

Might get 2 of these for the back of my Octavia as I have a low frequency booming at low speed which I can only attribute to the tyres (crappy Bridgestone).

    Thanks for the post.

Best tyres on the market.. Hands down. Don't bother putting anything else on your car if you actually want grip and longevity. Thanks OP

Eh? Not really an "extra", removing and fitting tyres is something you need proper equipment for that 99.9 of consumers won't have.

So no, not really an extra, more like a necessity.

Or perhaps you just didn't see the code at all, and it was still on. Which is highly possible.Either way you overpaid for your tyres. I am sure you'll be in the poor house and your life will be ruined for it, and this conversation was significant for both of us.Or not, as I suspect.

I can back up and can confirm that the code posted previously hasn't applied to the 17" tyre. I've checked, and checked each time and it's only been on 18" or above. (edited)

It's virtually impossible that everyone will like your deal. It's just a deal it doesn't reflect badly on you, let it go. No need to get triggered over an Internet post. I wouldn't worry about it, what other people think of your deal is none of your business really. That's the mindset you need for life. It just doesn't matter what opinions other people have. Whatever anyone says about a deal I would just do what I want, if you want to post again then do it, if you don't then don't. I do whatever I want whenever I want as long as it's legal. The world is a marvelous place if you leave your ego behind when you walk out of the door.

There was no code in December when I purchased a pair.

Then you made a mistake and bought the wrong week perhaps. I have looked every month, and the code always been there sat above the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 in this exact size. Maybe it disappears, but not for long.

I have been monitoring the prices of these tyres for the best part of 6 months, looking ahead for a full set for someone.

A quick search on HUKD here shows this deal has been posted a bunch, It's been around for a long time. January 2018, March 2018, August 2018 and again now. The OP (danflorin) last comment in the August update was in November where the code worked.

Always the same voucher code. It's been a near constant deal for ages, but don't get me wrong, it's always good to refresh it now and again on this site as a reminder. (edited)

    Engine blown up yet

Ford fitted the wrong head gaskets to a small percentage of early model years. It was identified in 2017, rectified before 2018 MY and I imagine every RS built has had the warranty work to fix it long ago.

Take it you’re here to rubbish everyone elses opinion because you had a perceived bad experience?

It’s not like Continental haven’t won quite a few awards and tyre shootouts recently is it...? oh no wait, they have.

These tyres are streets ahead of other brands. Michelin really nailed it.

Tremendous grip in the wet/winter conditions too.

Your first reply tells me I made a mistake and purchased on the wrong week. As someone who watched for a few weeks prior to purchasing I can say there was no deal during december. So your post of this being a long running deal is incorrect.

I don't think the code has ever applied to the 17" PS4's as I've tried each time and it's only 18" or above that the discount applied to. I got my 205/40/17's during Black Friday where they cheekily upped the price by £5 per tyre but it still worked out slightly cheaper after using the Black Friday discount code than buying beforehand. Oponeo Ranking of tyres

    oponeo.co.uk/tyr…018

If you rank 1st place as three points, 2nd place as 2 points and 3rd place as 1 point, then:-

Continentals are matched with Michelins on 13 points. Dunlops are just 1 point. Tyres are an individual thing. Unless you have four brand new tyres and you put them all through exactly the same tests on exactly the same car and you can push them to their limits then your individual opinion is irrelevant. Not only that, different sized tyres don't necessarily handle in an identical way and may well differ from vehicle to vehicle. After all, all cars handle in very different ways.

If you read further down this article, a bizarre conclusion seems to be reached. Bridgestone has no first place, one second and no thirds. So that's just 2 points and it is the winner? All sorts of categories and wet/dry blah blah blah, lol.

Like I said, an individual thing! (edited)
