No. As you overpaid for your iphone, you need to overpay again for the Apple version.

Interested to know whether MHL technology would be able to bypass the restrictions of watching BT / Sky sports App from mobile phone to TV? Anyone done it? These apps don't let you mirror or connect via regular HDMI. Would MHL work differently and fool App? Thanks.

It's micro USB, not compatible with Apple products.
Just be aware that some phones support MHL and others support Slimport. They are different but the dongles can look the same. Some of these cheap adaptors also only work for a few minutes before cutting out.

Thanks. I remember now why I can't use chromecast or HDMI for BT Sport's app. It's because EE Mobile customers BT Sport's App is restricted in this way. Don't think I'll get one now then.

Too true. I got caught out with the EE condition. It's not like I can watch a game of football on a 5" screen. It'll be okay if you had a decent size tablet I guess but I'm not buying one of those just to use the app. I got a tablet before and sold it as I always reached for my phone so it just sat there and became a dinosaur.

Just saw that even a tablet has to have an EE connected sim to watch the app!

I'm sure it's much easier to fool it (with root and some build prop tinkering or magisk module) than the sky app people on xda been trying to hack that so it will work on rooted phones since day one and got for the most part nowhere....

So Sky looks like a locked door if you have the app. BT possible but backdoor. MHL certainly isn't the answer but great device if needed. Thanks for your input

Restrictions should be picture quality based not screen size i.e. if you cast you get standard (or lower) not HD. No one can watch football on a tiny screen.

i have BT sports on my andriod and use "display phone screen on tv" to mirror it , the app is by Instatools and works great
These are good, i had one , but there kinda out dated now, good if you have no internet as you want to put your phone content on the TV, there is a few tvs with built in mirroring software that will connect with the mirroring software in your phone, but for them guys with internet , buy a chromecast and cast the content off your phone using apps like local cast or web video caster, if your looking to watch your android games on the big screen ,no matter what you use, there always bad lag, hope this helps some one, but these devices are just out dated, plus when you use a chromecast, you are casting which is more better on your phone than mirroring , there is also many tv app out there not on the playstore that uses chromecast to watch free films , tv and sky and all sports, you just need to do a little digging

Chromecast doesn't work with a VPN unless you get a dedicated router (pricey)

This won't work with the Samsung S7 or Edge, for anyone wondering. Not sure about S8 onwards

I believe you'll find that that's for 'new customers' only?, lol.

But it's all good. :-)
Login on Windows laptop on the BT sport's app and connect with hdmi. Works fine.

I guess you can find this in your instruction manual technical specifications. Alternatively, go to your manufacturers website. Many of my LG's from the past, (Nexus 4, Nexus 5, LG G2 & Gpad 8.3,) were all slimport.
