Would you be able to share the link to that deal, please. I can't find it. Thank you.
Great deal, if you make 6 accounts you get 6TB of cloud storage. Plus the whole Office suite of apps etc of course. The storage alone if you need it is a great deal

Thank you very much. It's very odd that they'd remove an older post in favour of a new one.

Having said that, I also just noticed that my deal is shown as being posted 1 h 52 m ago, but I had posted at around 0:45, but it'd gone to the moderators.

No buggy issue it just clogs up the feed thats all
Dont forget you can code stack too.
Not voting either way - it may be the cheapest currently available, but it's often down to £40
Please be aware if you have kids in school you can probably get this for free if they have an Office 365 school email address.

Each email address will only get 1TB each and you can use "2 slots" for a single email address to get 2TB.

According to the 3 camels, the lowest it's been on Amazon was £47.98 in 28 November 2019. I have kept this in my basket for a long time now, waiting for the price to drop and have never seen it anywhere near £40. The lowest I've paid for it was £45 from Argost nearly two years ago.
An honest question, why would anyone pay for this?

If you need Microsoft Office for working at home, your employer should be paying for it and most larger companies, schools and universities have licensing deals with Microsoft that allow their employees to use it on their home computers for free.

Otherwise, there are free packages like LibreOffice that are perfectly capable, I highly doubt for home use you need to use some obscure feature that can only be found in Microsoft Office.
Can I use this to update/extend an existing subscription?

Having access to the "proper" Office applications and lots of online storage for automatically backing up all the photos and videos I take with my phone, not to mention being able to install the said Office apps on my phone, tablet and PC and access my files across all devices makes it good value for me.

Yes. It will just extend your subscription for a year from when your current subscription ends.
Cheers op always grab when they are this cheap!
Another year + 1 month

Argos have definitely dropped it to £39.99 on a number of occasions before. Usually bundled with McAfee AV too.
I remember getting this from Amazon for around £25 several months ago

If your working from home it’s probably on a work laptop so has the company licensed version.

Office 365 installs activated on non work computers with work accounts often mean you get restrictions that the company sets, and your work administrator can have access to see your files, they probably won’t but does not mean they can if they have too. Plus if you leave the employer you’d lose access to the apps and maybe files if they are in your work OneDrive

The Home Use program of allowing a cheaper home licence changed a few years back from allowing you to buy a perpetual Office licence to a discount on O365.

For me the 1TB of OneDrive space at £50 (or less) a year is cheaper than most other providers Google charge £7.99 a month but that’s for 2tb as they done have a 1tb option, Apple charge 6.99 again for 2tb so both would cost me more (but I’d get more space)

I share my subscription with others I my family so we use 4 of the 6 slots which means on total we have 4tb storage for the £50.

There is nothing wrong with the free office apps but for me the value really comes from the online storage. The fact we get Office apps on PCs, phones and tablets is a bonus, as is the 60 mins Skype calls a month.

Yes, I bought from Argos for £39.99 on 22nd March this year.
Damn. I'd have jumped at it for £39.99. How does one track Argos prices, can someone advise? Is there a website like the camelcamelcamel where I can set alerts for Argos price drops? Cheers.

Normally the Argos deals are noted on here. I think they tend to do the offer (or they have done in the past) at least twice a year, if not more.
Hate subscriptions.

The work email can be used just for the installation and personal account can be used for One Drive. They both work together brilliantly.
And since it's one drive, you can even have all the Auto-Save and Collaborative working features too!

It's worth exploring work licences/ Kids school/university licences first before actually paying for these.

It can but the office install can have restrictions depending on what your administrator has set.
for example an administrator can set the office install to not be permitted to save to anywhere other than the corporate one drive .

What has been set depends on how your administrator has set it up, many may not set restrictions.

Maybe but it’s the way the world is going

There are rumours that Office 2019 will be the last version available with a perpetual licence, and Adobe effectively shut out perpetual licence for their high end products.
nchknc18/05/2020 11:43

Hate subscriptions.

Does that include hating Netflix or Spotify subscriptions? Although paying a subscription simply for a software package might not suit many paying a subscription for reputable cloud storage is fairly standard!

I would never trust paying a one off fee for any service which could then be switched off at any time.
Maybe a stupid question, but what happens once the year is up? I am sure it will auto renew at the price it is at the time, assuming its likely 79.99. Can you then change over to a single subscription? Is there a time period where your data is not automatically purged? Anyone got any experience with this? Many thanks,.

Correct. Unless you cancel automatic renewal, it will renew at the standard price of £79.99 (assuming they don't put the price up by then). So far, I've not paid full price for this, as a deal has always come up mid-subscription, allowing me to "top up" and never be left without subscription. And thus I've never really tried to find out what happens, actually. I'd imagine you'd get a fair bit of warning if you were getting closer to the end of your subscription and had data stored on Microsoft's servers. They'd give you plenty of time to download them before they are deleted. My guess is even after your subscription expired, they'd give you a grace period in which to access and download your files, but that would just that: my guess.

Thanks for coming back. So you can basically re-subscribe before expiry and it layers on? i.e. if you were 2 months in and re-purchased, you'd have 10 months of remaining + 12 new months? (If thats so... can you buy this now and then re-buy a day later?)

Exactly. In fact, you could buy three (or however many you want) now if you wanted to and apply them all to your account at the same time, and you'd have 36 months of continous subscription. You don't need to wait to buy more.
