Microsoft Edge Browser Available For Android

Microsoft Edge Browser available for android. Decent fast browser IMHO that can cross sync favourites etc with Win 10 on laptops /PC. For those looking to get away from Chrome etc.

I would have posted this in freebies where less people will see it

If you want the same effect without installing Edge, smear poop all over your phone. Make sure you get it deep in all the speaker holes, usb ports and headphone jack (if your phone has one).

Any notable improvements to Chrome?
I'm so invested in Google that the thought of using something else sends a tingle down my spine

Another malware for Android

"...cross sync favourites etc with Win 10"
Good luck with that, seeing as it's not a popular choice of browser even on m$ pcs.

Thanks OP, I'll give it a go 😊

It uses the same engine as Chrome, the only notable difference is the cross sync with edge on Windows 10.

I'm not going to vote as its not really a deal.

Might be useful with Microsoft Launcher which reads to have some nice functionality between mobile and desktop.

Yeah, the latest browser that MS will render obsolete with their next release of OS. MS's support policies dictate that only the newest version of IE available for a supported version of Windows will be supported.

So thanks, but no thanks.

i really hate this browser. it is even worse than internet explorer!

chrome is the browser to go for.

I wont even use this browser on my Win 10 PC so there's no way I'd use it on my phone - brrrrr, it's going to get chilly.

No it doesn't. EdgeHTML is completely proprietary to Microsoft but is supposed to be 100% compatible with WebKit.

garbage browser. microsoft are pathetic. the browser doesn't even work properly on windows 10 LOL. forget installing this on android.

Ok, ive done that. Had a curry last night. What next?

Hate Edge on Windows 10 - tried to use it many times - the usability of the thing for me just does not work.

Vivaldi is a good alternative to Chrome/Firefox if you want to try something different

Yes it does.

Edge uses EdgeHTML on Windows 10, but not on Android or iOS.

The Android version uses the Blink engine from the Chromium project, which is the same engine that Chrome uses.

Edge for iOS uses the WebKit engine.

For an unbiased opinion, it's alright. But I'd much rather use chrome.

People using Edge on PC couldn't care less about syncing across devices, I reckon the majority of users just use it because they don't know any better or just need a browser I to use Facebook I and that's it. Therefore they're unlikely to want Edge on their phone too.

It's alright Microsoft, we know you're trying.

Or accomplish the same much quicker by sticking the phone up...........

Cross sync android data to MS?

Think i'll stick to palemoon ta.

Edge is actually OK but so many missing add ons that Windows HAVEN'T made available for it........

Just install Brave browser. It's chrome with add blocking. I heard goggle is to realise a add blocking browser? Probably block everyone's adds except there own. Also I think Microsoft will release an android phone loaded with there apps by default. I guess your all going to buy that then from reading the posts here. Not.. .. Lol

Yeah it's utter poop, IE is so much nicer to use and that's saying something!

What is it with Win 10 apps all insisting on using dreary wishy washy greys and whites?

I suspect the only reason anyone uses it is because of MS constantly fugging around with your Win10 default app settings... I mean the damned piece of poop even takes over PDF's and is somehow worse than Acrobat reader, which is also a monsterous pile of turd.

good one microsoft, because the world knows you make browsers primarily for friendly user experience and security

More of a post to let people know who prefer edge, but let's face it, how many is that?

This post is colder than a frozen windows pc

Interesting!.

But Edge is Microsoft's, and Chrome is Google's, so how would/why would Microsoft be able to/allowed to get plagiarise Google's Technology?.

What happened to Intellectual Properties?, or ... lol.

Unless of course, they're both built upon the Open-Source Mozilla Engine?.

It's almost like I want to cry for Microsoft in some way? (perhaps?).

A multi Billion Dollar International Company, with stranglehold's everywhere ...

But despite all it's arm's and legs, it's lacking a World class browser ...

Puts a few things into a bit of perspective I guess?.

Forcing Internet Explorer on everyone from back in the day, did unfortunately kill off some decent viable competition at the time of when it really counted .. notably Netscape Navigator, and Netscape Communicator (from the body of where Web Browsers were all birthed).

That 'episode' saw their very unfortunate demise ...

Those of you who have mentioned other Web Browsers on here (other than ofcourse, Microsoft Edge, and Google Chrome).

Are the Browser's you've rather mentioned any good?, or ... (as I'm personally not as familiar with some of the one's mentioned, etc?).

Genuine question by the way, lol, thanx. :-)

Interesting comment, I didn't initially notice the difference?, until ...

For future reference OP, the Deal you Posted was actually a Freebie, and not a Deal.

So placing like for like accordingly could/would also help?.

Especially when it comes to HUKD, as some will deliberately Vote 'COLD' on account of your foresight not being able to tell the difference, etc? (irrespective of what your Deal/Freebie is, etc etc?).

Stay clear on the advice I've given you above ...

As the negative feedback, and/or voting streams could come back in proper sharp!.

Bare that in mind?. :-)

the only need for Internet Exploder or Edge is for downloading Chrome or Firefox or Opera. my phone already comes with Chrome, and an app store for downloading Firefox or Opera if I want them, so I don't understand the need for MS Edge browser on android.

People just like different things I guess. For me it's because Edge has a neat handover feature which I find useful as I go between PC and phone a lot.

All the browsers do that although I find Opera has the best implementation of it as you can have separate speed dials (quick bookmarks) across all your devices accessible across all your devices along with syncing your bookmarks across all your devices. It's a very nifty system.

Firefox wins hands down for me on a PC as it has fantastic addons whereas Chrome is more locked down. IE is a pos for luddites

Yay! Worst browser ever comes to Android!

The hand over on Edge is where you are reading a page and the send it to your other device to continue later. You could use synced bookmarks as a work around I suppose to accomplish the same goal. I use Edge on my laptop and tablet because I like the simplicity and extended battery life it gives on these.
