Probably a bit expensive for day to day use, but still a marvel of technology

ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO REFUNDS.

MICROSOFT HOLOLENS DEVELOPMENT EDITION DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY PRODUCT WARRANTY.

Nice.

Surely selling it the UK means that it has to come with a 12month warranty and a 2 yr EU warranty - sale of goods act and all that...?

I tried this a year ago at one of the lead developer's houses, and it was like experiencing alien technology. It's just incredible the processing power they fit inside this thing, and the speed at which it maps and renders environments. Fun fact: The 'air click' gesture control system it uses is an evolution of Xbox Kinect.

An amazing bit of kit but it's not a consumer product and it's not a deal ?

Not really. Businesses, which this is effectively aimed at doesn’t benefit from consumer rules.
Especially when you consider the developer maybe the one who bricks it.

That's a guarantee not a warranty.

Can see this selling for about fifty quid in ten years time as the 'classic' edition.

you can get a refund in 14 days if you don't like it...cause the law does not care about Microsoft's opinion in Europe ... it actually says that the terms are for US, just to fool you...they can even get a fine for saying in capitals that sales are final :))

Amazon are classic at that, by trying to tell people that when you shop with them you accept their T+C's that you only get 1 year warranty...

It amazes me how comapnies are allowed to claim their terms circumvent the LAW!

You might be dead though

Would love to try this. But I'll wait as too expensive for me.

Like others have implied, from experience Microsoft do not honour warranties even if you are covered...the exception being when there is mass issues such as the red ring of death for 360 etc when they'll be pressed with lawsuits from other bodies. I've had several Nokia/ Microsoft phones that failed within the warranty period that they refused to fix, as well as a surface book that broke after 9 months that they would not even let me send in for repair as they said it was out of warranty (yet I bought it direct from their Microsoft store) so I took it up with my Credit card who then gave me a full refund under the my consumer credit rights.

Cheap when you think about it - this is the unit they use at the International Space Station.

Ordered one for the loo and one for my space station, thanks OP! Mr Drax will be pleased!!

It's good to know the Kinect wasn't a total waste of effort then :).

What an offer. I will buy two

Isn't that a discrimination?

Whats the best was to deal with this is the only way a small claims court very and trying it on with me at the moment and i did tell them that their t&C are not above the law and they would not budge

There's a lot of bad information here regarding your rights and the 2 year EU law that people believe in so you need to get the right info...Consumer Rights Act 2015 is what you need to study

I had a go of one of these last weekend. Very very cool tech. I was amazed to see that it is not a tethered device and the entire thing operates within the headset, which is actually pretty lightweight!

I was a little disappointed by the field of view when using it tho. It kinda just a small window in front of you that uses the AR, like looking at your PC monitor in front of you. The guy on the demo booth said it's something you get used to. I'm sure future versions will widen the FOV.

I had a go at this ay a shoe and was was amazed. Early days but great tech.

Not sure what you think I was asking? It wasn't a question. I know its a developer model and said so.

It is a product dedicated for developers, so discriminating everyone who is not.

So -what does it do for 3 grand?
