Microsoft Lumia 435 PAYG at Carphone Warehouse - £19.99 (+ top up)

110
Found 19th Nov 2015
Carphone Warehouse has reduced the Lumia 435 PAYG to £19.99 (plus from £10 top up on new connections) or £9.99 for upgrades. This phone will be eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 10 when available. Also has Cortana on board. Inexpensive Xmas pressie.

If you have a question READ THE THREAD before asking. Most questions have been answered, i.e. yes, the phone is unlocked. If you are too lazy to read, why should anyone else go to the effort to answer the same question again, just for you?

Wow, worth it for the offline SatNav alone I think.
Locked?
CPW phones are unlocked.
Cheap !!, big mistake dropping the Nokia name, almost having to give them away now.
Showing as 70?
cheap as chips
These were £4.95 awhile back, on a Virgin PAYG upgrade (you needed an eligible SIM) also from CPW. I bought two and sold them to CEX for £45 each in vouchers. You could upgrade with other service providers SIMs but it cost more. CEX are still paying £30 cash or £43 voucher for these, in green or orange, as new condition.

HUKD always mangles links to CPW. You have to go the the home page and hover on "Upgrades" on the banner, then select "All Phones" under "Pay as you go".

That's why I always replace the 'tt' from URLs so it works as it should and only a sec to correct, makes life here much easier.

Thanks for your help, but the cheapest I see this phone for on that list is £19.99. Would it be possible for you to post the link please? That would be an ideal holiday phone for me, cheers.
Ordered. Thanks OP, heat added.

Great deal for a non-upgrade price! Windows 10 should be available for it soon, the pre-RTM version (build 10586.11) was released to Windows Insiders last night.

It was available for £10 on payg upgrade straight after release. This particular handset was designed to be sold at a low cost, it would have sold at the same price even with the Nokia name. The Lumia 435 has been way more successful than the Nokia Lumia 530 that it replaced, which was a complete flop.

Thank you!
I got this awhile back on the £4.99 upgrade, as I wanted to try out a Windows phone.
Can't really complain at that price but I did find the call quality pretty poor and the screen resolution and size not good for my aging eyes. Didnt bother with Cortana as Microsoft want way too much of my private information.
Decided I prefer android and am sticking with my Moto E (1st gen) - a much much better entry level phone, in my opinion.

So flog it to CEX at a big profit. I've had four of these phones over the last six months, one to use, one given away, and two sold to CEX.
are these phones locked or unlocked?
My Lumia 800 just died. How does this compare?

Then you didn't read the third comment in this thread? Of course it is perfectly fine for everyone with a question to ask for a personally crafted answer instead of first reading the thread, but you won't always get one.
According to the details I've provided, it's saying I'm not due an upgrade for o2. Such a shame as my son needs a new phone and this is ideal. Good price for £19.99 though if you can't get the upgrade.
Heat added
Can you order an ee sim but use your own...says credit will be added within 48 hours for payg non upgrade?
I wonder what's the profit margin for the likes of Samsung or iPhone?!
Not getting my unique code after I put my mobile number in, its not saying unelligable or anything just pops me to the next screen without giving me a code. Any suggestions?
gud deal
