Decent phone but Microsoft have completely ballsed up win10 on mobile, and there are lots of apps appearing but, lots going. Amazon has dropped support too.
So just about a phone with mobile browsing. My next mobile I'm going to be ditching Windows phones, it's a real shame as they don't slow down and get filled with crap like others. But support / apps is getting worse, it's now filled with any crap to make Appstore bigger.

Amazon also have a win10 app incoming btw...
Nice OS, just shame about the lack of decent apps.

Latest news is it might not be again.

All the uncertainty over some of the mainstream apps (does it have one, will it get pulled, is it behind the iOS and Android versions, will it see an update) is bad enough.

Such a shame.
I have a windows phone and it is the biggest waste of money. There are no decent apps and the edge browser is terrible, it crashes and barely opens Web pages.
Great for a 2nd phone but not so sure about a daily main depending on what u like to do with a smartphone. I mostly use web, WhatsApp, play music, email and of course the camera and Lumia phones have been good for all those tasks. Edge is a step back from the older IE and the older devices upgraded to Win10 feels sluggish and clunky. I have been pondering switching to iPhone and having a Lumia as my 2nd phone, but every time I use iPhone I remember why I stopped using it in the first place. I think it says a lot about Windows Phone/Mobile that we have put up with it for so long despite its problems and shortcomings. I will wait for Surface Phone and/or a discounted (sub £250) deal on Lumia 950 but if things don't improve I may end up switching.

Serious question.... can it play pokemon go!??
Take a look at the HP Elite x3 releasing soon as that's an awesome Windows phone/computer/laptop. I don't know how they crammed everything into that one.

Good price but run a mile from win mobile it's dead and I'm gutted it is by far the best out of 3 bar app support

amazon is in middle making a new app
Spent months trying to convince the business I work for to ditch iPhone and go for Windows phones, the 650 in particular. Great looking and lightweight, the screen is great too, really looks the part. But every time I made progress convincing others this was the way to go, Microsoft would throw a curveball like spinning Lumia off to Foxcon which made trying to sell these things to a business more and more a hard sell. A great looking and competent phone but no support from Redmond
I have this phone and apart from the speaker being on the back (which means its covered when sat on a table) it is great. I've got myself a Wiley Fox instead now though, as it becomes unbearable trying to find a useful app.

I'd recommend it if you just want to call and text, but if you rely heavily on apps give it a miss.

The Lumia 650 has a front facing speaker, there is no speaker on the back. Maybe you are thinking of the 640 or 550.

They sold or spun off their remaining rights and support of Nokia, not Lumia. Microsoft still owns and supports Lumia. This may be the last Lumia but it's unlikely to be the last smartphone from Microsoft. They will be trying to get back in the game next year in a big way with Surface Phone and a bigger push for Continuum, I just hope it's not too late.

Rumours say Continuum 2.0 will support win32 desktop apps (or maybe just a way to convert them to work). If one can take their full desktop PC around with them that will be killer enough for me to make a purchase. Continuum so far is just a good idea, but it's one killer-app away from changing the game.

If continuum means an atom or more likely core m based phone that can run win32 apps (and even android apps at near full speed), wireless display to 2 or more screens for under £500 with 2 day battery life then they'll be back in the game.

MS bought Nokia just to keep the patents that the company owned and then ignored their products. Their demise is Karma striking back.
Great value phone, lack of apps doesn't bother me.

The holy grail for some but major blocks to that happening any time soon.
Firstly, Intel have cancelled plans to make any new chips for phones.
Core M even with a lowered TDP is still too power hungry and probably too large for a phone and it doesn’t even include a modem.
At 10nm maybe Core M would work but Intel are struggling with that node so it’s delayed until H2/2017 at earliest.
With MS giving up on the consumer phone market the chance for the WP app market to grow significantly has been kicked in teeth even with UWP.
For it to run Win32 applications would surely take quite an upgrade to WP10!
Too many ducks to line up for all that to happen and MS seem to getting more incompetent by the year so I would bet against them these days.
A Wintel phone with continuum could have been immense but they are both seemingly too slow to have grasped that and I think the moment has passed.
Don't get it. Have the 640, super fast...and love the tiles. But the app support is shocking and frustrating. Either basic cut down versions, or (more likely) not on the store at all.

Such a shame as it would have been a really good phone.
app support is bad. eg kik! cant do half the stuff on it as opposed to android and ios.

not many updates needed as half the apps you wouldnt have and Windows barely update their systems on windows mobile.

not a fan of windows and ive had the phones so yes I know what im talking about. soooo much potential yet lack of support from third parties
SandstormBargains

app support is bad.

It has about as much support as a hippy chick dancing naked to Sly & The Family Stone at Woodstock.
Bounce, bounce.
I have a Lumia 625, 512MB RAM and 8GB strorage with Win 8.1. Runs fast compared to Android phones with same spec and multi-tasks a lot better too. I tried Android and chose the Lumia as Windows on the phone 'just works'. It's a real shame that they have pulled out of the phone market!

Haha microsoft have effed up! Thats not even suprising anymore!!
got to love the security on my nfc enabled dual sim lumia 730 - my bank won't make a windows mobile banking app, and I'll never have a payment app by the looks of it either.

and I thought the news was that Intel have stopped producing LTE-enabled processors, so no Windows compatible phone tech for the future?

Windows Phones use ARM chips and WP10 rather than Win10. There are seemingly no phones using Intel chips and Windows 10 and maybe there never will be now!
Having owned two windows phones including this one my view its they are not practical or intuitive, they have limited appeal to most people, it's a shame they just couldn't get a grip on the market share, Microsoft appear to have almost pulled the plug

God I hate my windows phone, same as this post. DO NOT GET ONE AT ANY PRICE. I'm a big microsoft fan but it's crash and bug city at the mo - win 10 made my 640XL turn much worse than it already was. :'(
I loved the windows phone and it is such good quality. Also, the camera takes fantastic photo's .The Only problem is, the phone is way to limited with the amount of apps available on the marketplace the Swype feature I use to text with, is very erratic sometimes doesn't function properly
Price gone up to £118.45. Expired.
By the way, £119.99 in the Microsoft store. I know it's slightly more (by a quid or so) than some other places but postage is free and if you get any problems they just send you a new phone. It's also cheaper than most new on fleabay, even refurbs/used.
i bought this from o2 seems a good handset not as good as the good android ones but its a lot less buggy than about 6 months ago some decent apps it does the basics give me this over a poor build import from amazon android anyday
