If you are a massive Windows Phone fan, this is a good deal.

Don't get me wrong, I used to like Windows Phone a lot, but there's probably only around ten people in the UK who might still be interested in Windows Phones

Yes, you are right. It get cold because people starts to compare to Iphone and Android. THIS IS A MICROSOFT PHONE, one of the best!!! If you like it's a good price for impressive specification. If you don't like, you don't like up to you! But DO NOT compare to Android or IOS because it isn't! You cannot compare the apple to pear, or dog to cat.

I am still very interested.
Windows phone shipments were less than 0.1% of total for the first quarter of 2017. Even Microsoft admit that it is a dead OS and have chucked in the towel. If you are silly enough to buy a Windows phone now you are buying a dead duck.

Window phone shipments
Windows Phone is done.

As MS have stopped supporting Windows Phone, I would avoid this like the plague. I had a Windows Phone before and liked it a lot, but it's all over now.
This has been cheaper in the past (link below), so it's truly bewildering they are selling this 'dead duck' for more now. They should be practically giving them away for free now.

Soon these will be retro and worth hundreds.

When have they stopped? My 735 has just had a windows update. Yes, a lack of apps, but that means far less security problems, ironic for a m$ device. I still have news, maps, and whatsapp, don't need much more. No need to go back to Android at the moment.
They have not stopped support for windows phone.....yet just windows phone 8 devices......window sphone 10 is very much still supported. I have this phone well did until it fell in the pool on holiday. The camera is awesome best I have ever used on any device and the screen is brilliant.....using android at the moment and I miss the buttery smoothness of the OS, if you don't mind the odd app missing mostly like restaurant apps etc most of the important ones are there then they make great phones.....office integration outlook etc cannot be beat.......
They've only stopped supporting Windows 8. But unfortunately, Windows 10 is not likely to be a 3-year platform investment. But then again, neither is ioS - if you have an iphone, you'll be lucky to get 3 years out of it before you can't download apps any more.
So I've just moved over from Windows 10 to Android (about 3 months ago), and previously was also on iOS. To be honest, if all you want is a decent phone, email, basic web,a decent camera, PC integration & media play, the Windows phones are much, much better, better value & much, much slicker than Android. My Lumia 830 outdoes any of the Android phones I use now (including the Samsung) - better cameras, no adverts, works well & smoothly on a 1GB/16GB RAM platform, excellent email, calendar apps, phone & messages that actually work an you can answer when somebody calls you, wireless charging, SD card support, decent UI interface. And the new Edge does a good job of covering the main "apps" albeit from a browser standpoint. Even the battery lasts a couple of days - on a 2400 maH battery.
That being said, if you need any app support at all, or want to use a platform that will last beyond 2-3 years, then unfortunately it doesn't bode well and Android/ioS is the only real option. However, if you are still a Microsoft fan and can cope without the millions of apps to download, it's still a decent platform for a couple of years. And this phone is a really good phone for what you get (but BT were selling them for £219 recently). It does annoy me that everyone really slates the OS, most of those that do have never actually used one and sit behind their badly designed ioS/Android marketing platforms without any knowledge of what they're talking about..

No, Google don't support Windows. Don't buy a Lumia for maps, the latest maps refresh on W10M s pretty awful, especially for navigation.

But not fully supported. Development of Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile has decoupled. Windows 10 (desktop) will be supported with new features in the future, whereas Windows 10 Mobile will only be receiving security and bug fix updates until it hits EOL.

The future also looks bleak as Joe Belfiore has confirmed that Windows 10 on ARM won't be coming to Windows Phones, and is being used primarily for Laptops or Tablets where extra battery life is needed.

The 'Surface Phone' or whatever it will be called is likely to be a tablet first, which may or may not be able to be folded in half, that can also be used for phone calls.

As it is though W10M is the most stable it has ever been. I still enjoy using the Lumia 650 on the odd occasion. The platform is at its best when only the basics are required, trying to use it anything more adventurous is likely to frustrate, or be impossible.

This doesn't run Windows Phone. It runs Windows 10 Mobile and will receive support for 2 more years.
I've still got a Windoze phone (supplied by my work) and it's getting worse all the time. The latest update sucked a large amount of my storage and more apps are stopping support just about every week. This week LinkedIn said their app would stop working on it. Really, avoid this. Even if you like Windows on a phone it's only going to continue getting worse.
If this was £99, it would be great deal, as it's a great camera. But for a similar price (239) you could get a Oneplus 3/3t with a supported OS and apps that will be updated and a similar camera spec.

Where can you get UK model Oneplus 3/3t for £239 ?
Good phone but very few apps work on it, so not great . Without apps any phone is useless.

Microsoft has tested Full blown Windows 10 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 . So next Surface phone will be a Windows 10 computer which can also work as a phone. Windows 10 Mobile OS used in this phone and HP X3 Elite is a dead horse.
Windows Mobile is a great OS, but it was just too late to market, iOS and Android had already for their footholds, WM was 2 years too late.

Same with BB10, its better than iOS and Android, believe me it is, but 5 years too late to market.

iOS is 10 years old now and Android 9 years.
