Does anyone buy office 365. Can't you get home and student for £100 and not pay each year?

I buy Office to get the 5 TB of storage. The Office software is an added bonus. I qualify for Office 2016 Pro under the HUP (about £12 I think), but I still buy this. It’s so flexible to install and activate/deactivate on our computers and Virtual Machines. Plus you get to install it on tablets/phones.

I see this is 1TB storage is that total or per machine?
Does Norton security deluxe replace Norton 360? Is it just a newer version of 360?

You get 1TB per user, and this is a 5 user licence.

Yes, Norton Security standard & deluxe replace 360.
This is not a deal. It was this price before

But for £12 you get to keep your software. With 365 you pay and continue to pay each year. Does anyone remember before Microsoft forced people into an annual subscription? We used to buy it and have it for years.

Norton sucks . Slows down any computer. Windows defender is free and works well without slowing down. I hear most people complaining about slow computer but would not look at what is overloading the cpu and hard disk .

But I have it installed on 4 computers, each of which have 1TB of backup in OneDrive, all for £4.50 a month. I'm happy with that.

It's true that it's cheaper than what I pay to Dropbox for the same 1TB pcm

You know, there was a time I would definitely agree but not anymore. You find Windows Defender has about twice the impact score of Norton, and with a worse real-world detection rate according to independent tests by AV Comparatives. See the following:

av-comparatives.org/com…m=0
av-comparatives.org/com…m=0

Of course, if you don't believe AV Comparatives, you can take an agregrate of a number of tests to form a conclusion: fatsecurity.com/too…=16 - Two Years
fatsecurity.com/too…-15 - Last 12 Months

Windows Defender is probably enough for the average user, though, and definitely better than having nothing at all.
