meaning?

How about some explanations of why this isn't a HOT deal? No, just cold votes. It's a HOT deal unless of course you know of a better deal.

not necessarily. deals are not only judged on price, but how useful they are at this present moment in time. this includes demand for a product.

I also offered an open source alternative which just happens to be free.

the site is a lot more than 'cheapest price anywhere ' links.

My daughter like thousands of others is starting uni in a couple of weeks so in my opinion this is very useful at this moment in time. As regards the free alternative there are plenty on the net none as good as the Microsoft one which she has used through school and 6th form. But hey ho you know best of course.

I agree with you scunny - this is still the best deal around for this product. I can't believe MS Office is available for so cheap, I really think this is a bargain. Some people may use free alternatives but everyone uses Microsoft Office for one reason and that's because it's the best software available for it's purpose!

It's perfect timing for those going back to school too. I'm starting back at Uni in a couple of weeks and NEED MS Office to submit assignments and work on group projects. Our study notes are even available in PowerPoint!!!

P.S. for anyone interested in buying, I seen that it's while stocks lasts so I'd buy sooner rather than later.

Don't understand the cold votes, this is by far the cheapest you'll ever get this for!

codswallop.

the alternatives are just as good, if not better than Microsoft.

This is a good deal for what is it! I had to pay over £150 for Microsoft office and if I had the option I would have preferred this student subscription version. A 4 year subscription is more than enough for student needs.

Mods removed the original reply but I thought you'd get the idea with the new one!

Google Docs works just fine also. Granted this is a great deal in terms of price however there are many free alternatives out there and with a little intuition you can grab Office 2010/2007 Enterprise edition for free! (that includes almost all Office applications, not just word, excel and powerpoint)

If you want to buy then this is a good deal, each to their own!

tend to agree with you and Libre Office/Open Office is just as powerful as MS Office not to mention free, however not everyone has the time, wants or has the skill to learn a different office program.

After months of trying to get my dad and brother to use Libre Office, I gave in and bought both of them Office while I use Libre Office. Thus I can understand scunny and amanda65's sentiments.

I have also found that formatting and the look of documents can change when loaded up in MS Office at work or at Uni if not saved in a specific way so someone without the technical know-how could find it difficult when working with Libre Office at home and MS Office at work/school/uni.

Its a shame that MS has such a monopoly thou.

docx usually guffs the formatting up.

Great deal if you are a student with a university email address or ISIC card.
