For some reason its not available for my Samsung tablet.

My HD7 is spitting it's dummy out as well... Here's hoping your Samsung isn't the 2014 Note 10!
Still worthy of heat anyway.

been free for a couple of weeks. mega hot. shame can't change PDF to word & vice versa for free though.

OS version: KitKat (4.4.X)

this gas Been available for Samsung 10 tab 3 for about 6 months..
has something changed ?

Sweet! .. I already have Kingsoft Office, & Open Office on mine already .. MS Office for FREE would kinda be a cool additional touch to my arsenal still? lol. :-)

I wonder what the catch is? .. Microsoft are NOT in the habit of doing 'free'?, whats the 'long-term' catch ..... lol.

Available for Nexus 4 phone but not Nexus 7 (2012 & 2013) tablets. Loaded APK file from Nexus 4 onto tablets and now working on both tablets. MS has limited its functionality but it is OK. I am sure some of the freebie office apps have better functionality but it is a start.

Why is this in freebies section? You need a subscription to be able to create files and save them locally to the device?

Opposite for me! Unavailable for Nexus 4, (custom 4.4.4) but available for N7 2012.

Grabbed the apk's and obbs from the preview last week and sideloaded to the N4 but the 'Accept' button on the the initial T&C screen is off the screen so cant click it.

Tried altering dpi with AppSettings but it the T&C screen wasnt affected.

Other devices are only JB & ICS so cant even accept the terms and transfer data with Titanium.

Will have to see if it runs on my Kindle HD.

I'm one of the mugs paying for the full version, got to say it is really great. Use it on my Android phone and tablet, works really well and cloud backup of all your docs is handy. if you pay you also get 1tb free cloud storage too, and you can put anything you like on it not just Office stuff (I've got it set to backup all photos automatically). Is about £8 a month for full access plus 1tb cloud, not bad really if you're a biz user.

These will only work with ARM based processor tablets. I signed up for the beta only to find they would not work on my Hudl 2 which is Intel based. Would have thought MS would have included Intel based Android tablets by now.

Because you can create and edit for free. . . .

From the description - "provides a core experience for viewing, creating and editing documents on tablets with a screen size of 10.1 inches or smaller"
Like the iOS version you can create, edit and save but the more advanced functions (reviewing etc) are not available without subscription.

so if you dont have a qualifying 365 sub, what can this allow to do? can you create and save word/excel docs?

is this totally free on a device with a screen size smaller than 10.1 inch?

First a free upgrade from win 7/8 to 10 and now free office, what's going on at Microsoft? That new ceo hadn't better be careful or MS could end up bankrupt, (coughs) *Tandy!*

No go galaxy tab2 7" or s3

I'm getting "PowerPoint for Tablet"?, & NOT "Microsoft Office for Tablet"? .. whats going on ..... :-(

Lool. :-)

Not available on my Samsung Tab 2 10.1 or S4 Mini

Try using office.com or Google docs

don't work on my Asus HD memo tab boohoo

why should you use this instead of drive/sheets/docs?

Thanx for that indepth explanation of all that, lol .. then this is really NOT free/a freebie? .. as an existing 'Paid for' qualifying Version of this is initially needed elsewhere before then ..... hahahaha .. its cooooooool though?, lool. :-)
