why cold??

I was just going to ask the same question. This mouse cost £10 in Netto last week and I was alomost buying it. Now I'm glad I waited. I ordered one for myself to replace my dreadful cheap Argos mouse.

Microsoft make good mice imo.

its cheaper than the pile of doo doo sweex mouse and not a bad mouse either, probably find the cold voters are those who like me need 8 buttons or more...then you obviously will have to pay more. I've ordered a couple as spares for the house..have some heat

I have this mouse. good, solid and reliable. hot

I've got this mouse and i've had it for over 5 years and never skipped a beat!

Yes I had a couple of these mice over the years and they are excellent VFM at that £5.

Don't forget you can download the latest MS IntelliMouse software free from the MS Hardware website to support it (guessing it'll come as an OEM "naked" mouse without any add-ons/software).

Personally I am now a convert to cordless - so much nicer to move a mouse without a tether - but I blagged a nice MS one for
PS: I notice the 7dayshop is "on order" so may take a while - eg some ink carts "on order" took just over 3 weeks last month for me.

I have a similar mouse to this post - but with the side buttons, very happy with it, and the side buttons - most of the time. Though they've been a pain in the 4rse on a couple of occasions when I've been typing something (inevitably several paragraphs) into a web form, then gone to move the mouse to press 'submit' on the web page, only to accidentally catch the side button on the mouse and it makes the page go back to the previous page - all that input - gone! booooo! hahaha.

Second best, The Intellimouse Explorer 1.1 was the best mouse ever (with real side buttons, not the silly little ones of the IE3).

What's the build quality of this mouse like these days? They used to be really solid but has there been any cost cutting lately?

Very old mouse now.

These are quite decent, I stocked up on a few from Scan some time back. I don't think they come in retail packaging, they will most probably OEM packed which is in a plastic wallet but the actual mouse is faultless, been using mine for a few years and its still going strong.

I think it has native USB output with a USB to PS2 adapter, 7dayshop.com/cat…703 is a direct link to the actual product.

i have several of these. use them on all 4 of my computers. and have a few spare. they have lasted at least 4 years, most of them

nice mouse i brought one these about ten yr ago for tenner ok for browsing but i dont think il ever give up my Razer Mamba

Great mouse already got it but was looking to buy another as mine has turned yellow being in use so long!

Have theblack version ofthis and it is the most comfortablemouse

When it says "PS/2, USB" would this be a PS/2 connection by default with a PS/2 to USB converter plug?

Is that the one that's listed as Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical 1.1 Win32 PS2/USB - Black - Ref D66-00073?

£6.99 using the same link.

Edit: Looking at the picture it's obviously not the same!!

They are good mice, shame about it being white though.

Using mine at the momment! Had it for, hell too long to remember. Bashed it a few times when the PC plays up (as you do). Still works fine.

They are good mice. Might get one as a backup, can't have too many spare mice especially in the IT industry. Agree with others the black version is a lot nicer!

Don't forget cashback: 2% TopCashBack, 1% Quidco, every little helps:D

+1. My fav mouse ever.

If your interested in getting some more though, look for some good 3 pack deals. I was looking a while ago and the 3 packs were awesome value.

I want to stock up as this mouse is perfect and don't want to risk trying a newer one that I won't get on with.

does nayone know where is can get a decent value for money mouse? I was a ps/2 mouse to replace my current usb mouse because I have a shortage of usb ports.

just a normal black mouse with ps/2 connection - obviously i would prefer the side buttons and roller if pos :-D

i'm off to have a search on tinternet just now, but thaoughd i'd ask in case anyone knows the best place to go.

nice post OP good price!

Fantastic mouse IMO. I've bought two new ones since which are the latest laser/wireless and I still prefer this.

My hottest deal yet, thanks for the heat and rep, you know who you are, next time leave your name so I know who you are, cheers.

I've bought several of these mice a few years back for mine & my family's PC's. These are half the price I paid. Best mouse I've ever used.

Loved that mouse too, and was upset when the microswitches started dying.

I now use the ]M$ laser mouse 6000 - side buttons aren't quite as good, but the wheel is a little better & i think the design of the lmb & rmb is a bit longer lasting.

I have this mouse at the moment and it keeps losing connection to the PC - have to plug and unplug the USB... do you think I'd have the same problem with a new mouse? it doesn't seem to matter which USB port it is plugged into so I think its the mouse or the software not the USB port.

Christine

I ordered yesterday, and have just had an email to say that they are now out of stock and order cancelled.

can only find the black version of the MS wheel mouse , and at a ]higher price of £6.99 delivered.
