This was the cheapest I could find this mouse too (apart from Ministry of Deals, every couple of weeks, a pound cheaper).
Play are also offering the Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 for £1 more (£8.99).

just ordered - thank you - mine has been playing up now for a while so cant wait to get new one - might work properly - this one moves when it wants not when i want it to!!!!!

If this was wired, I'd be interested.

was £4.99 a few weeks ago!

Set with matching keyboard anywhere?

I ordered this set with matching keyboard a few weeks ago.

I was very happy with it apart from the scroll wheel. It was very unresponsive and this seems to be a common fault with these Microsoft Mice I got a replacement and that is fine.

This is the standard optical mouse, the bundle above comes with the Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 suggested above by BeeKeeper. I have now used both these mice and find the 2000 model much more responsive, so I would recommend that people shell out the extra pound!!!!!!

However still a crackin little mouse for the price. Voted Hot!!!

will this work with linux on my net book????

Has this a mini USB sender thingie?

Anyone recommend a decent laser one instead?

Make sure you get a 'new one'... the one I received from the last play.com deal had obviously been used before (scratch marks on the pads, half peeled label on the transmitter), and didn't come with any packaging or instructions. Maybe it was a refurbished product...

For 5 pounds, I can't complain too much

Mine came in the same state - wasn't too perturbed either - I've hooked it up to my MacBook - refuse to pay £55 for a wireless mac ]magic mouse - this one works just nicely when I need too use it

anyone know what the range is like on it?
