The original surface Headphones only came in the grey colour. So if you got black then it's definitely the Surface Headphones 2.
You could also register the device with the serial number to your Microsoft account and it will show the product details there.
Or life in general, for that matter
They seem great although I'm shocked that my ancient (and falling apart) Plantronics headphones actually sound slightly better to me. But that's not particularly relevant here.

Any good options at the lower budget end? Sound quality doesnt need to be anything special, just want something reliable. Probably go over-ear but would consider those clip on ones too, just not tiny in ear ones as I'll just end up losing them.
What would you say the ANC is like? And also how's the comfort for long wear times?
Q30 are around half the price and generally better reviewed. But unsure if reviews are relative to RRP (edited)
I sent my old ones for repair under surface warranty thru MS and I got a replacement pair that came in a brown box with french software.
