Some companies have a 4 to 5 year replacement program

Where i work we have a 10 year even if its broke lets get parts from the skip program. I kid you not!
With an Atom CPU, 2GB RAM and an old battery I don't think this is worth having

These are still VERY capable machines. Atom x7 which is a 4 x core CPU at 1.6Ghz. There is 128gb SSD type storage, flash and 4GB RAM, so it is very well specified. Add in a Dock, which just needs a figure 8 power lead to charge it, a battery for the pen and in reality this is terribly good value for money. The pen's battery is available here (£1.99 delivered):- ebay.co.uk/itm…ee0

The figure 8 lead is available here to power the dock, but 90#5 of people would have one lying around the house from any time in the last 50 years (£2.49 delivered)! ebay.co.uk/itm…MJ~

The only other thing you might need would be a decent micro usb charger and cable, if you don't have one. Try this? (£2.98)? ebay.co.uk/itm…BZg

This is a bargain, note however this is NOT a 4G Tablet. The 4G it is referring to is the 4Gb of Memory. A bit naughty, but there you go!! ;-p

Quality product however the pen doesn't work or at least didn't work for me.

Did the code work for you?
4 years old product. Still a very good price.
im still using surface pro 1 but its on its way out , screen coming away etc

This will do fine for me, many thanks to poster
Good price, but the Spanish keyboard puts me off (I know it's still Qwerty, but quite a few differences to what I'm used to)
Avoid! Have one for work, nothing but problems.

Mainly the dock, slight movement loses the displays. The one with the cube dock after this model isn't great either.

By choice?? I mean, who in 2019 expects their employees to work with a years old consumer tablet??

Not for a surface (or probably any windows tablet) they shouldn’t
Battery on this was pretty bad when new, so that would be one concern of mine.

Most companies do. Not many would provide their employees with an entry-level surface tablet though
Great price ! Ive been looking at Microsoft surface pro 6 for a uni course. Considerable difference in price between 128 & 256gb space. Can anyone here advise if it’d work to buy 128gb & use a large memory card to boost space?
This isn't a real Microsoft surface....
Power lead NOT INCLUDED (charges via micro-USB)

What do you mean not real? I have a Surface 3 - bought years ago - it too only has a micro usb for charging. I have always had problems charging this thing. It either simply doesn’t charge, or it uses battery quicker than it can charge. Yes it actually runs out of battery whilst plugged in. It’s utter garbage and I have regretted buying it from the very first weeks of owning it. Not worth £50, never mind over £100
From what I can see you could give it a try and sell it to cex if you don’t like it, shouldn’t be any loss involved at that price, I bought an exdemo one a few years ago and had issues with battery life too as well as it sounding like a light aircraft on my lap whenever it did anything other than show the desktop

Dude....you just need to use a quality micro USB cable!

I've been using a Surface 3 for 3 1/2 years now. I've still yet to find a replacement that betters it (I run mine with an extended desktop....tablet part has Spotify or whatever else, and the main 24" 1080p screen does my MS Word/Netflix etc).

Travelled with it all around AU/NZ/SE Asia. Superb bit of kit - just be aware of its limitations (don't expect to be doing photo or video editing!)

You're talking about the Surface 3 Pro. The Surface 3 is fanless/silent

The nhs still runs on Windows XP lol
I don't know why I bought this as I already have a slightly newer surface

The power of hot UK deals......
Fantastic deal for the package. Bought one to replace my old Lenovo Yoga 2 8"
I bet this is super slow! Also, don't expect much from the battery.

Perfect. Just bought for my daughter. Should do for homework, web browsing and stuff. Figured if it’s not fast enough for her I can just put back on eBay

That's a bonus, you don't have to take the power brick with you. Just use a phone charger

I have the original Microsoft cable with the white LED on it and the original Microsoft USB plug. I’ve tried alternative USB plugs, I’ve tried alternative micro USB cables. Always the same charging issues no water what I try. Perhaps my unit was a duff after all (when I looked online it seemed that everyone had the same type of issues with the S3)
Always wanted to try Surface. Took a chance on this.
Heat added - good deal for those who are happy with the screen size.

I am a big fan of these devices - I have both a pro 4 and a pro 5 - for me the extra couple of inches makes all the difference along with the better screen quality as I use them for teaching.

Obviously they cost more but I got the pro 5 for well less than 300 quid off ebay with just one battery cycle on it

This.....

One drive, Google drive etc give plenty of extra storage capability - I use both on my surface pros and they do the job very nicely...
Had one of these when they came out great little units, and yes they do drain when charging but only if you use a low power phone charger.

You have to use one of the higher power chargers, also they have 30 day returns via eBay so if its rubbish just return it.
