Awesome price for the i5 model with typecover. I had one of the first models and I loved it, that was years ago so upgraded a little while ago. This is much better and from what I can see, the cheapest around by £40

Decent screen, CPU and RAM Combo and a really nice size for both laptop use and tablet. I love the stands on these, the surfacebook 2 is awesome, but needs either a 3rd party stand or the keyboard to be attached backwards to get it to stand.

So yeah, I won't go on about it, but defo worth a look.

You'll need code 40LAPTOP

awesome price awesome bit of kit
Great to see these coming down in price - they really are awesome devices.
Great price for this bundle. Not quite the same as the Curry's bundle as that includes the better version of the Typecover. If you're after that version, then Curry's is still a better deal.

So I really need to read heat op since your one is the i5.
Such a disappointing device, mine had dreadful backlight-bleed. I won't be bothering with Surfaces any more, clearly Microsoft are cutting too many corners - this is a fairly common complaint as well.
Cracking deal, I paid £750 plus the cover £80 last year!
This is an amazing price. I love my Surface and I use it daily for both work and pleasure, however they are well known for having technical issues.

I got mine from John Lewis, and they replaced it without issues when I had the flicerking screen issue. What are AO like for customer care beyond year one? You ABSOLUTELY need to know you can return this easily in years two and three, otherwise I would stay clear.
Shame it only has 1 USB port

No offence - but this deal is for an Intel i5 Processor ... read the specs - this is a good deal. Linx (which I have) is terribly slow.
But if you actually use it for anything other than browsing the web you'll find that 128gb fills up pretty fast.
Finding this 'deal' pretty easy to resist myself.
From why I’ve heard from reddit and the threads on there the lots from 174* onwards don’t suffer form the light bleed issues.

These things are too disposable and have an iFixit score of -1 I think! They are literally glued shut. I don’t like the idea of a device that has a very finite life. I also don’t really like Apple products but at least you can do some servicing on them!

So for now, still hobbling along with a Surface Pro 3 which has been pretty solid all things considered. Tried the 4, 5 (2017) and Book and each had issues of some sort - and not just me being a fusspot, stuff that you wouldn’t accept on a cheapo Linx tablet let alone a super-premium expensive thing like this.

I guess it’s a good deal for the money but even if it was all fine, I wouldn’t be buying a 7th gen system now. Also the m3 really isn’t that much slower than the i5 unless you are doing things that need sustained performance and who does that on a tablet!

What do you mean from “174*” onwards?

I imagine from lot 1740 onward. My friend has one from lot 1810 and there’s no noticeable bleed at all and he seems perfectly happy and he’s fussy.
Awesome? Cracking? Great price? Amazing price? Wow - so many superlatives some of you lot should go into advertising.

Don't have a link do you? I can't find it
Excellent price for an excellent device ... love these machines. I've been using one for just over 18 months now, no complaints at all.
specs look decent for the price, thanks
Very tempted - GREAT price - but, my Surface Pro 3 i5 is still doing me absolutely fine. Best devices we've ever bought - initially tested the water with a Surface Pro 3 i3 model and after a few months bought myself an i5 model for myself - wife wanting the original one.

Very adaptable devices, though relatively heavy if you do intend to use this *only* as a tablet (unlikely given you're purchasing a i5 PC... i.e. why buy this form-factor whatsoever?!). EDIT: should indicate that by "use as" I mean software as well - 'real applications' rather than just apps. Else that *cough* Atom-based Linx tablet (and many similar ones) would be a real comparison.

Lap-ability is absolutely fine. Hadn't even heard of the "light bleed" issue (and I'm a pretty geeky windows insider), but not something I've seen until googling now.

Both of ours (Pro 3 models) are in great condition after what must be ?? 3 or 4 ?? years - not even had to replace the keyboards.

As a enthusiast - usually building my own (desktop) machines - I was very put-off by the idea of no possible maintenance, but I felt the same way about pretty much all laptops anyway.

Wouldn't look back - it was an absolute *luxury* product hard to justify for us at the time, but I definitely intend to replace both devices with the current model of the same when it becomes necessary (failure or aging specifications).

The backlight bleed issue put me off (very noticeable in white background in portrait mode). Would JL price match AO?
Price wise this looks a great deal. However will 4gb not less for a Windows machine? Will a decent spec Chromebook like Asus C302 not a better option in 60% of the cost?

I wondered that about the 4gb. I'd worry about performance if Windows or popular app get heavier in the next couple of years or so.

Awesome price for this though, nice find op.

No, they don't price match online only retailers.

Not true, yes 1 on the device itself, but there’s another on the power bank that everyone thinks is just for power, shock horror, it’s a proper USB port.I keep my blue tooth adapter for a mouse plugged into it.

What surface have you got and what powerbank? It is definitely just for power on my SP4 standard power adapter.
I really dislike the form factor of these vs a standard laptop. I bought a surface pro4 a couple of years back for my wife, and it really sucks to actually type/work on compared to a Dell XPS 13 (my machine). As a really expensive tablet it's fine though.

I know what you mean. I’ve just bought a top spec surface pro but am thinking of returning it for a dell xps 13 as I tend to use it more on my lap than I thought.
I personally wouldn't risk being stuck with 4GB of RAM on a device you can't upgrade down the road. If you're investing into this, you want it to last longer than a few years.

If form factor isn't an issue for you, it's actually really expensive for the specs alone.
Can anyone who ordered confirm which type cover comes with it?
It's 674 if you type in WINDOWS10 code
