Is the surface pro 6 and is this faster than the go

It's not the surface Pro 6 but I can confirm its alot faster and more powerful than the Go.

I would personally go for the Surface Pro 6 and pay the extra.

Main issue is. The additional laptop screens, some displays and some things like external graphics cards are going to be making use of this standard
I went with pro 6 with i5, 256gb ssd and 8gb ram. I have been reading online that the 128gb is a much slower ssd then the 256gb. Its on offer for 2 more days on Microsoft website including type cover for £899. Don't bother with m cpu. I5 is quad core so it can handle, Photo shop, light room and basic full HD video editing with no problem. At first I even thought oh no there isn't any USB C. But I thought about it and it didn't bother me after. Can always get an adapter. I bought the offer myself from Microsoft website. Platinum colour. Free 30 day returns if not happy.

I'm sure I have seen this on clearance in currys for £550. But no keyboard
I keep looking at a large tablet device and ditching my desktop (or use it as a NAS).

Not sure I’d want it running Windoze. Drawn to an iPad Pro. Heaviest use would be for photo editing. Affinity looks an attractive app.

Battery life, excellent screen, portability and stability are key.

Opinions please.

The OP's Deal will probably still work out cheaper.

As the keyboards for those Surface's, push out at around the £200-£300+ mark by itself (for just keyboard alone - I could buy a quality Android Tablet, or a cheap iPad with that same 'additional' £200-£300+ instead?, lol).

Would be a better bet collectively going for the Surface/Surface Pro, with the keyboard in the first place?.

(Assuming that the keyboard is required in the first place ofcourse ... )

Portability of sooooo many thing's out there appear to be 'key' these Day's?.

But with such 'portability', MAY come a 'price' (obvious 'monetary issues' aside).

I'm referring to 'HEAT dissipation' ...

The old original Cordless House Phone's used to do it (in the battery anyway), as did the old/original Mobile Phone's, the original/earlier Desktop PC's, and the old/earlier Laptop's, as did those original/earlier Tablet's as well?.

(They've alllllll had their foiballs? - and in the cases of some from my list above, they're STILL having 'similar' foiballs too besides ... )

So whatever you go for (in the first instance anyway), I'd pretty much look at that aspect of thing's, etc, perhaps?.

Anything after that (like CPU, RAM, etc), is secondary.

As none of that will matter anyway?, IF the heat coming forth FROM the Device, 'KILLS' that Device ...

(That's how I see it anyway?). :-)

I had a similar 'issue' with a similar Hybrid Laptop I bought well over 1 Year ago, everything was pretty much going sweeeeeet for AGES! (literally, lol), until one Day ...

I sorted it for free under it's warranty though (thankfully, lol), I know how best to now handle it I now believe? (it's 'limitations', etc etc etc?).

Needless to say, come Tomorrow going, I'll be a wee bit more cautious when considering such 'options'?.

Enough said ...

Don’t know where you’ve seen the Surface Pro keyboard for £200-£300 but I hope you didn’t pay that.

The Alcantra ones are £149 (or £125 atm at PC World, and the regular ones are £125 (which are non-Alcantra):

pcworld.co.uk/gbu…tml

You can often pick them up cheaper than the normally RRP.

The deal is good but I’d also recommend the i5 model.
this was also available from argos ebay last week when ebay were doing the 15 &10% discount codes but i still wasnt sure it was a good deal so didnt post it.
The i5 with 256gb for £899 on Microsoft's website is a much better bet than this in my opinion. £280 extra for an i5 processor and double the storage is worth it for most people's usage cases. I tried the M processor version of this a year or so ago and it was painfully slow.
2 days left on the i5 256gb deal.

Taking the fan out wasn't a good idea TBH. The Pro gets very hot now.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, yep, I'd say?. :-(

Any half decent 'Device' (be it a premium product, or otherwise?), is prone to 'issues' (without some form of decent airflow attached to it, the way I see it?).

So yeh ...

Is the surface pro 6 and is this faster than the go

Yes, but it is the lowest spec you can get of the pro. I'd recommend going for the i5 with 8gb ram modle which pops up as £750 every now and then
With that spec this is just an overpriced tablet and not a laptop replacement it's supposed to be.
A decent spec surface pro unfortunately costs a bit more. And in my opinion too much to compete with a premium ultrabook
