Agreed! great QHD screen, slim, light and powerful. The pen is very good for productivity and creative elements and a worthwhile investment now at these price points.
Tempted by this for sure, it makes my surface pro 1 look very dated! Still struggle with adding that £110 keyboard to the basket though! Also thinking these might drop further in price once a surface pro 4 exhists..... Picked up the surface pro 1 for about £300 after the cashbacks when they were clearing old stock
I really want one of these I can't stop looking out for the top spec model, that price hasn't dropped unfortunately ::(

If that cashback comes through (which it reliably does with MS Store, could always go towards a keyboard half price)

forget cash back I'm going into Currys/black/pc world to collect! ... If it weren't for this deal I would never of considered it, however I'm glad I didn't buy one of those Linx tablets as was very close too
Can this be hooked up to an external display (a projector?) and have the display duplicated?
Argos are doing running this as well. Soooo tempted.

Yes. It has a Mini display port. You can buy adapters to other things. VGA/HDMI/DVI etc. Cheapo adapters on Amazon/eBay can be much cheaper compared to Microsoft.

Or you can get all three in one adapter:

John Lewis would have the advantage of two year warranty (slightly less hassle then arguing the sale of goods act)

I always default to Argos, benefit of 6 months interest free with the card.

Always pay that sucker before the interest free expires though or my God will you feel the sting.
AMAZING DEAL! Such a great product.. need to go get one ASAP!
One of the best bone for bone laptops in the market today. Far better than the useless Apple products with laughable screens or 1 USB port. Hot.
Oh no! Recently chose an iPad air over the Surface as it was so expensive (and still is in comparison, to be fair - I paid £299 for the 32GB air with a two-year JL warranty) love the air for ease of use, size etc. but now, can I justify having an air AND a Surface?!

superb product! I own a pro 2 and my brother owns the pro 3. will not find a more versatile PC with these specs

if you want more. pay more.
cant believe they do a 64GB version, too small to be of much use
Say I go for a 64gb, how much of that 64gb is free space?

Windows 10 is the best OS of all time.
Very tempting, but still seems expensive for what it is...
Quick word of warning: when I bought my SP1 from the MS store the cashback did not track via quidco.
A year later MS have confirmed but still not paid up, and quidco have been very good a part paid me themselves. I'm still waiting on the full amount so remember the cashback is not always guaranteed.

Not much apparently! Only thing to do is hook-up an external drive I guess for the main storage when you're using it at your desk. And a large SD card for external use, as the poster above said.

Version comparison:

* 64GB - dual core 1.5 GHz CPU, 850 MHz GPU, 4GB RAM, 37GB HDD space free
* 128GB - dual core 1.9 GHz CPU (up to 2.9 GHz boost with 1 core, 2.5 GHz with 2 cores), 1.1 GHz GPU, 4GB RAM, 97GB HDD free
* 256GB i5 - as 128GB, but with 8GB RAM and 212GB HDD space free
* 256GB i7 - dual-core 1.7 GHz CPU (up to 3.3GHz boost single core, 2.9 GHz dual core), better 1.1 GHz GPU, 8GB RAM
* 512GB i7 = 451GB HDD free

So basically you want either of the i5 versions, IMO. The i3 is crippled, and the i7 unnecessary extra cost.

£579 is tempting, but as it turns out that £769 (or more) is the one you want, I'm resisting for now. I'd like a SP4 with GPS and mobile data.

But also far more expensive than a decent Windows laptop, if you're not going to use it as a tablet very often, once you factor in the keyboard for it?
good specs but price a little high

This made me smile You're regurgitating crap you've heard elsewhere. I … This made me smile You're regurgitating crap you've heard elsewhere. I have a Surface Pro 3 top end model, I'm replacing it soon with a SP4 (It's that good a concept, love the thing). You mention it's better because of the QHD screen.... Apple has these. You say it's better because of the 1 USB port, IT ALSO HAS ONE... Yes we have one on the charger but it's flaky (Read online a little). It's a fantastic device that has a quality interface 8.1 and Windows 10 are a dream on this, however, it does have a SATA 3 SSD where as the Apple products you bash have a PCI Express SSD and their own nice touches. I own a Mac also and regularly use the two, stop bashing other products to justify a purchase. Just use the damn thing and be happy

The surface pro has a USB port, headphone jack, Mini display port, full size USB 3 port and a micro SD port. Not to mention the USB port in the charger which works fine on mine.

The new macbooks use a USB C port and want you to pay £50+ to get some ports back with an ugly dongle that nobody wants to carry round. USB C and a headphone port. hah.

Stop bashing people for having an opinion.

Anyone with a copy of Windows 7 or later gets a free upgrade to Windows 10 btw. It's not like it's a feature of this device.

Doubtful for a while, this price drop is likely to remain for a few … Doubtful for a while, this price drop is likely to remain for a few months after the SP4 release, they did a similar drop on the SP2 before the SP3 release. Individual retailers might try and clear old stock but the SP3 might live on just as the SP2 did, at least for a while.

Fair point! How many people actually use them as a tablet I wonder though, compared to using it with a (very expensive, but cool!) keyboard for the majority of the time? With the keyboard it is very expensive still, when compared to a decent Windows laptop?
They're feeling the heat, (much like the i7 version) I expect they'll be dropping these lower when the 4 comes out next week and the 5 the week after. More money than sense and I tried one, they're awful and expensive.

They're an international supplier and the surface ships from in the UK. Basically you get a US model which is identical bar the charger, they supply a brand new sealed unit with a UK power lead also. Saves a lot of money.Covered by warranty in the UK and paypal should you need it, you won't.

Interesting. Should post that as a deal. Do you have a direct link?

Can confirm I too bought form this seller as did my sister. Packacking was a little rough when I received it but contents where in perfect condition and all fully sealed. They will also do a keyboard bundle.
With Argos also if you are a Santander customer they have 5% cashback in the offers section.

The new Macbook that is unreleased is a bad comparison, it's **** but … The new Macbook that is unreleased is a bad comparison, it's **** but that's unreleased ****. I don't want to carry my surface pro 3 keyboard and pen around and have to keep detaching them, it's nice that I have the OPTION but it's a pain. I'd like a thunderbolt port or a USB C port for faster transfers but I don't have one... I'd like a faster SSD than the current troubled Evo in my unit, but that's part of this device and the PCI express is part of an Apple device.I was critiscising the gent for bashing Apple when they actually offer a very nice product, why bash it? Opinion is great but mindlessly making false claims such as one USB port and Poor screens is being a troll.Be sure to go shout out that you can get Windows 10 from any Windows 7 device, I pointed out from 8.1 on the Surface pro 3 since that's what the deal is

So what Apple device would you compare this to? Since the MacBook 12" is the closest device they produce. You don't have to carry round the keyboard and pen. Leave them at home. USB 3 is quick enough for me and it supports USB 2 which is vital in the tech industry.

I honestly don't know why you keep talking about PCI express or SATA 3. But sorry you're having issues with that interface.

Calling him a gent or saying he "regurgitates rubbish" is condescending. He didn't troll, one usb port is daft and on the MacBook air the screen is terrible compared my acer S7 which I purchased for a similar price. He just had an opinion, a very short one and because you didn't agree you wrote an essay. Like the essay I've wrote to you...and now I feel like I've been troll'd.
