Wow

From the label it looks like it is the Surface Pro 4, which is the older version. Confusingly the new one is just called 'Surface Pro' with no number. Not a bad deal though.

Just checked and you are correct it's the Pro 4. (I've updated the title).

Nice saving really want one of these was looking to get the 2017 version so may hold out.

Heated.

There Doesn't seem to be much in the specs from what I have seen and the price only drops when a new one out, go for it if you can find it, I still have a 3 performing well ( I got for 600 when the 4 came out) unless there is something awesome I missed between the two? (I guess battery maybe mine still lasts ages)

Cracked my screen in 3 places in 10 months, once just from leaning on it, just a warning for other clumsy people. Taught me not to buy something I can't afford to replace or fix. Microsoft want £400 to replace unit as screen replacement is too complicated according to them (in the UK at least). I'm using it to type this comment btw so it still works at least.

Tempting, and of course, this also includes the pen.

On the other hand, it is still Currys

I'm not sure what yo're trying to say other than you are rather clumsy.

Got one of these in black Friday sale last year. I was very happy with it until it became unusable due to screen flickering and flashing. Microsoft refuse to replace with anything other than a refurb for less than a year old unit!
Lots of stories of flickering screen issues online so be careful if you purchase one.

I reckon that's exactly what they're trying to say! Clumsy folk warning other clumsy folk of potential breakage!!

Just that the screen is subject to damage and if you're going to buy one then definitely buy a decent screen protector particularly given that it's difficult to repair if you do damage it, it's probably not a home / YouTube job. I dropped my iPad 1 about three hundred times without so much as a scratch so don't expect that level of robustness.

My launch window Surface Pro 3 has been dropped enough to know that it is a robust device. Likewise, there are businesses that make a living off iPad screen repair, so I find your 'three hundred' claim to not be in keeping with the mass prevalence of iPad repair shops, and the relative difficulty in finding a Surface Pro repair shop.

Yes indeed, so nothing to do with the device, but everything to do with people breaking things that can be broken.

The 2017 version may not seem like a big leap on paper, but it certainly is, particularly in battery life and the fact that the i5 version is fanless. The 2017 pen is improved again, but you need to buy it separately.

Just giving my opinion based on empirical experience, you can relax

Decided to take mine back (still sealed & unopened).

Think I might be better off with a "traditional" laptop as I'm unlikely to make full use of the Surface Pro's features.
