Good price, best price I can find for it but personally want the Microsoft Complete or equivalent care which Very don't offer.

Depends what you want though, doesn't it? The HP Spectre you've linked is a laptop, not a tablet. There's no touch screen. There's no pen support. It's a completely different category of device.

The Spectre x2 detachables are very nice but there's no free dock or interchangeable pen tips - important for artists or note-takers. After all, what is the point of shelling out for these devices if the pen isn't important?

As is the Surface Book which has the same problem as the Surface. OK so no changeable pen tips but so what unless you are one of the very few who are artists then the up to £200 cashback on old machine worth more. anyway I notice you didn't comment on the sleep of death issue . . .
Sleep of death? I have mine for around 6 months now and have no issue.
Still loving it. Admittedly a little higher spec model than the two listed in this post.
Amazing deal and the SoD issues are skylake processor issues, not just occurring in the Surface line, it's an Intel problem.
This doesn't effect most people and most people's problems were fixed by updates, if you're unlucky and suffer it you can just get a replacement surface through warranty

This is an issue with 6th Gen Intel chipsets, and incompatible apps disrupting S0 sleep state. It will be fixed but is not a fault of the hardware, and similar issues have appeared on other ultrabooks with 6th gen i5/i7 CPU's.

Had my Surface Pro 4 for nearly a month with no issues.

Strange that MS are silent on this issue, theregister.co.uk/201…10/ is an interesting read, quote "Searching “sleep of death Surface” on reddit.com brings up 50 relevant threads. Even more damning, the same search on Microsoft’s own support forums yields over 75,000 results; for users who don’t know the bug’s nickname, a simpler search like “Surface sleep crash” nets even more: 250,000."

Me I won't be buying Surface any time soon purely on this basis.

Not strange because it's incorrect. Microsoft have said they are working on it multiple times with Intel, but cannot give a timeline for when 100% resolved will be achieved, because it is such a sporadic issue for the majority.

What you are referring to is the vocal minority. When the iPhone 4 had the antenna gate issue, the internet was awash with angry customers, yet in reality 99% of handsets had no issue, and was down to a design choice, rather than a fault.

google.co.uk/web…F-8 take a look at a more appropriate serarch to see what the real issue is here.

To quote the article you linked;

Like I said, the 6th generation chipsets introduced a very new sleep state that hasn't ever been implemented before Skylake, and as the Surface Book and Surface Pro were one of the first machines to use them, some apps are incompatible and thats where the problem seems to lie.

Can always enable hibernate instead if you need to, takes like 2 seconds longer than sleep.
Regardless, I've been using sleep on mine for 4 months and have had no issues myself
I guess with 20% off, you might as well just buy the surface book!
Where do you see the free dock? I see that on the MS site but not the very site?

Says at the start of the product description "Get a free dock and pen tip kit with a Surface Book or Surface Pro 4 purchase between 12th May and 1st June"
Ruddy typical... I've just turned my swanky new tablet on and this is the 1st notification I get from HUKD!
I have absolutely no problem with mine and I have mine since December. In my view, it is the best tablet around. Fast and powerful.
See it now, its also on the MS site too

Bam! Actually just went for the surface book.

i5 with 8gb Ram.

Couldn't justify the 256gb storage or graphics, so went with the 8gb memory version to save a few quid

I also have the surface pro 4 i5 and no issues whatsoever! Yes it is the vocal minority. Of course being a windows computer it'll have issues but when you look at the actual capabilities of a full fledged windows computer running in a tablet form factor you have to admit the pros hugely outweigh the cons! Nothing like being able to play civ 5 one minute and then popping it out of the dock and using it as a full fledged cloudb ready notepad the next.

Love the massive screen!
Wish I could afford it!
stuck with my SP3!
Just gone for a Surface Pro 4 (8gb/256gb) for £550. Admittedly secondhand but mint condition.

Pretty cuffed but was a one off sale.

Great price for a new device though!

Lucky sod. Bought one 2nd hand with the same spec as yours but with a keyboard for 800 notes just over a month ago. 400 quid cheaper than retail so was happy. Until you came along.

You should be very happy with a £400 saving, great kit even at full retail (also, mine has not come yet so a bird in the hand ...)

I also picked up a Surface Dock for £45 but will have to make do with my old Surface 3 keyboard for the time being ;-)

Just looking forward to my surface pro 4......coming tommorow. :-)

I have never been in a CEX when there hasn't been a queue to the door - which puts me off but I suspect my timing is off .

Coincidentally my Surface pro is arriving tomorrow as well (fingers crossed, but I have a tracking number now)
Gutted I missed this. Would of got the i5 version at that price.
