Hi kitty,

Are you sure it doesn't include the pen? Please if anyone has bought it in store can they check? I'm going to order online.

If this includes the pen then it's a better deal than the Amazon £549 one, especially as it comes with a 3 year warranty. I don't know whether I should cancel my Amazon order now.

Thanks.

Can you confirm that? Which retailer are they price matching? If they're matching Microsoft then it should include the pen.

Well as its not listed in accessories.......
Perhaps you could call them?

Not sure if they would match Microsoft online store but I have filled the online form already. Not sure if I still need to add John Lewis Added Care £79? But then adding the pen £44.95 the cost going to add up. However Microsoft store 2 year warranty cost £149 ..... hmm not sure which one is better! Anyone had any experience with JL computer guarantee experience?

Re pen, I doubt it they have included it but still I will wait for packag earrives first before I go buy one.

I did and they said not as far as they were aware. They were going off of the same website info. I asked if they could check the box but as they were just a call center they said they can't check the physical item, and I couldn't call store branches either as funnily they're not taking calls on Black Friday.

The added care includes accidental damage cover if you're accident prone. John Lewis includes 3 year free normal warranty whereas Microsoft only comes with one.

oh well got the reply back from John Lewis as expected.

Thank you for your enquiry.

In order to apply a price reduction on a purchase, the criteria in our pricing policy must be met. I regret that after review the request you have submitted does not match all or parts of this policy.

Microsoft is an online only retailer and does not trade on the High Street or on a comparable shopping destination. As such they do not trade on a like for like with John Lewis.

In order to match a price request, high street competitors trade on the same basis as us, with premises on a high street or comparable shopping destination freely open to the public in the UK mainland. They should carry a reasonable range of goods in stock for you to buy and take away, with clearly displayed prices. Their websites need to trade under the same brand and on the same basis as their high street shops.

Outlets which trade on a different basis to us, such as those that operate only on the internet or through mail-order, showrooms attached to internet-only companies, collection points, auction sites, factory outlets, membership clubs, duty-free shops, market stalls or home shopping channels, are not deemed equivalent high street competitors. We also don't match competitors who are in administration or closing down.

Therefore, on this occasion I regret that I cannot match the price offered by Microsoft. If you would like to view more information about Never Knowingly Undersold and our pricing you can do so on our website.

I am sorry I have not been able to reduce the price on this occasion. If you require any further information or assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely,

Wellington
