Is it surface 2

Microsoft should offer their latest product on student discount not a machine over a year old

No, this is the original Surface Pro.

Is it surface 2

you mean surface pro 2

Not a good deal.
The surface pro 2 is apparently way better faster and better battery life..

Surface Pro 2 has only been out for a few months so there won't be a replacement yet. Also this price is half the price on the Surface Pro 2 making it a good deal. It's cheaper than an ipad and can do so much more!

This is just amazing. Very powerful core i5, decent graphics, full HD screen, USB 3, full windows 8.1 and a wacom active digitiser. You'll not find much better for this price! Only real improvement in the surface pro 2 is the battery life and slightly better CPU/graphics. Bargain!

Anyone know how to verify for student discount?

Yes I agree. I was waiting for a deal on a Surface 2 (RT) but instead of a discount they offer £36 of Microsoft Store vouchers. However the 32GB is out of stock now.

u need @ac.uk email account.

I just verified using my NUS number. Im not a student per se but do studying with the CII

Anyone been able to add a surface to their basket yet?

not a student :-(

I'm not a student anymore (been a good few years already) but I still use my @ac.uk email account to this very day, would I be eligible for this deal? Trying to chance it lol. Also can't add it to the basket, anyone know how?

NO Keyboard !!!! Beware!!! V?ery Expensive IMO. Why not buy a laptop and a Tablet for £450? rather then this

Fantastic deal, but for graphics pros be aware that the Surface Pro Mk I doesn't have pressure sensitivity (the Pro 2 does). It makes no difference if you're not into Photoshop or Painter etc though, so superhot anyway

The pens are identical.

The wintab drivers were delayed but have been released for the Surface. So it has pressure sensitivity.

i love my pro surface 1 , can only imagine the number 2 being slightly better, bit of a bargain this

Why is no KB such a problem you can use the onscreen one fine and if you want just plug a 10 quid one in. Makes no sense buying 2 devices when this does both

Yes it supports Miracast.

This is a very good deal if you don't mind the battery life though.
With further quidco reduction, I'd rather choose this than 10 incher baytrail tablets, e.g asus T100, or something above this price range such as dell venue pro 11.

This also can use pen digitizer (by wacom), just need to install wintab driver as mentioned by kingchris.

yes u can, it's just a confirmation link u get in ur mailbox

Also remember the power cover should make an appearance soon.

microsoftstore.com/sto…100

Which will increase battery life to remove the only real negative of the SP1.

Hmmm I wonder why all the forums are full of this NEtgear thing, seems very popular.
I got a new Samsung smart TV recently and it works flawlessly with my Galaxy S4, I have become a fan of the technology.

Seems good deal then. Unable to add to basked though....

Great tablet. Bargain at this price.

sor far netgear has proved to be the best affordable widi adapter on the market, i tried several mid range dongles and all of them had latency or skipped frame issues.

No luck here...

Has anyone actually purchased this yet?

Cannot add to cart even though Im using an ac.uk email addy?

Would it be best to go for this or the asus t100?, trying to consolidate gadgets (ipad, laptop, desktop) but cover all bases and thus far the asus t100 seems to fit the bill.

Holy crap, that's a fantastic price, 64gb only 20 quid more than my Asus t100!

I employ a unit student and a college student on placement, if they want a full time contract they'll need to lend me their email account.

Not able to add to cart equals not actually available with Microsoft Store. I've had this problem before with their online store.
