sorted byI noticed that.
Mine tracked at £69.40.
With student savings that £325
What a steal!
no not required.
It will be hardwired most of the time.
But mobile when I need to take notes using the pen.
Of course a longer battery life would be great. But the reduced cost far outweighs a need for a longer battery life.
:-)

The medion uses a baytrail (atom based)celeron cpu based with its pretty slow intel hd graphics. The cleron isnt too bad but the gpu is horribly slow, its uses 4eu's compared to 16 on ivybridge and also runs at a lower frequency. Pretty useless for games, 2gb is low for metro too.
Its strange because it has 64gb cache (which is really high) and a 500gb hd. They woudllve been better of with a 128 ssd.
Good battery life though( probably because of the low power cpu)

Most websites tracked it at around five hours and a firmware update was released after that re-review which added extra battery life.
Another thing was pointed out on Anandtech, they found that the software they normally use for video playback drained the battery quite a bit and that the same video played using Win8's own video playback software gained them over an hour in battery life.
it takes up to 12 hours to process an order... I've ordered a surface rt last evening and got the emails this morning saying order processed, however shipping the unit can take up to 1-3 working days ( due high volume of orders now ! ) I have spoken to CS about 2 hours ago about similar concerns just be patient ... I still haven't received shipping confirmation as yet ( almost after 24 hour from ordering it ).
ordered 128gb model £520 - £70 cash back = £450 for a good i5 128gb, compared to other hybrid tablets its a steal imo.
You can use SD Card as well to upgrade storage
Will use with my adobe master collection and for software development.
I will buy a large and fast SD card for saves.
Thanks op!
Mine worked!
Thank you for your order
To access your Microsoft Store account, always use your Microsoft account, not an alias you may have created.
Mine worked!
And I am a student.
Hoping quidco tracks too.

try using another browser?
I also noted that Microsoft prevent you from installing to SDXC (I wonder why!!) but USB drives are possible.
It is possible to circumvent this though by installing to USB drive then copying files to the SDXC card
I can't check out. I got a dead loop in address page.
"When you purchase the Surface Pro Version 1 and Surface RT you will not only be eligible for this £50 cashback but 6% cashback on hardware sales too"
How could you use student discount?
My page shows
Your home organisation does not use the OpenAthens to Shibboleth gateway to access this service. Please contact the service provider or home organisation for assistance.
Then I will have to get a micro then
;-)
They are available in 64gb
Because I am a student with the open university and I have been registered as such with Microsoft for the past year.
You have to jump few a few hoops to prove you are a student.
This is a good thing so people do not abuse the system.
HP has a similar student scheme going which I managed to prove my status last week after considering a Spectre.
This is a better deal for me though.

The battery does not last long for surface pro 1,are you going to buy a external battery?
I bought one with student offer as well.
The same as I thought, every penny counts.
seems it will run for a little less than three hours at various load.
So better than most laptops anyway. Not an issue in the slightest for me.
would you get £50 quidco for student purchase?
Hi I can confirm that my quidco of £69.40 has already tracked and is a guaranteed payment.
So not problems there.
You would be foolish to miss this offer at this price!
I know the technical differences but is the user experience much better with the Pro?
read the review on the link I posted above.
You really have to factor in the price this is right now to realise how good it is.
BTW
After looking at options for mine (64gb version), I originally considered a class 10 Sandisk 64gb (£70 amazon)
However, as I am more interested in storage at my desk, I have realized a more cost effective option is to buy a USB3 hard drive enclosure @ £6-7. Example found:
ebay.co.uk/itm…d42
Then I can purchase an SSD of any size at a much lower price per Gb and have excellent read/write speeds. So, for example, I could get the enclosure and a 240gb crucial m500 for £100

Does this come with free Microsoft Office?
In any case heat added.
