Seems to be the touch cover, not the type cover, unless I'm missing something.

Sorry it is the Touch Cover Keyboard which is normally £99

Seems a good deal with the free touch cover. Heat added

Good price even it is the first Gen. I wonder if there is a lot we can do with the 64GB HD though.

£395.10 if you are a student

The 128gb model is available as well for £519
You can use SD Card as well to upgrade storage

I'm gonna bite on the 64gb version.

Will use with my adobe master collection and for software development.

I will buy a large and fast SD card for saves.

Thanks op!

Mine worked!

And I am a student.
Hoping quidco tracks too.

Just had a look at 128gb class 10's looks like as little a price as £60!

I also noted that Microsoft prevent you from installing to SDXC (I wonder why!!) but USB drives are possible.

It is possible to circumvent this though by installing to USB drive then copying files to the SDXC card

You do realise that the Surface pro only takes MICRO sdxc right? Not full size sdxc.

I haven't managed to successfully completed an order all day. Just reloads the shipping address screen when you push the button.

Because I am a student with the open university and I have been registered as such with Microsoft for the past year.

You have to jump few a few hoops to prove you are a student.
This is a good thing so people do not abuse the system.

HP has a similar student scheme going which I managed to prove my status last week after considering a Spectre.
This is a better deal for me though.

no not required.
It will be hardwired most of the time.

But mobile when I need to take notes using the pen.

Of course a longer battery life would be great. But the reduced cost far outweighs a need for a longer battery life.

I bought one with student offer as well.

The same as I thought, every penny counts.

techradar.com/rev…iew

seems it will run for a little less than three hours at various load.
So better than most laptops anyway. Not an issue in the slightest for me.

I don't see how you guys are managing to order these. Just tried after setting up a completely new Microsoft account just to make sure there wasn't something weird about my original one. Still does exactly the same thing. Submit the shipping address and the page just reloads. I've tried different browsers, machines, address and nothing works!

would you get £50 quidco for student purchase?

Hi I can confirm that my quidco of £69.40 has already tracked and is a guaranteed payment.
So not problems there.
You would be foolish to miss this offer at this price!

Are these really any good? I got the Surface 2 (RT) and am underwhelmed by it - it's going back. Much difference?

I know the technical differences but is the user experience much better with the Pro?

read the review on the link I posted above.
You really have to factor in the price this is right now to realise how good it is.

Wow awesome price

Surprised this hasn't hit 100 yet and the masses have not jumped on it.

BTW
After looking at options for mine (64gb version), I originally considered a class 10 Sandisk 64gb (£70 amazon)

However, as I am more interested in storage at my desk, I have realized a more cost effective option is to buy a USB3 hard drive enclosure @ £6-7. Example found:

ebay.co.uk/itm…d42

Then I can purchase an SSD of any size at a much lower price per Gb and have excellent read/write speeds. So, for example, I could get the enclosure and a 240gb crucial m500 for £100

still not decided whether to go for this or an i5 or i7 laptop for around £500.

Does this come with free Microsoft Office?

In any case heat added.

No, no office.

OP you need to change the title to Touch cover.
Edited by: "Ferrari100" 2nd Mar 2014

its a shame accesories are not widely available

the type cover is better then touch cover

the typing experience is very fact however the touchpad is kind of small and annoying with the windows 8 gestures

But the real beauty is it is a fully fledged Windows PC so you can either get a type cover and sell the touch cover on or purchase a wireless/Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
