This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

I just ordered this, it seems to be the cheapest decent spec Pro 7, rather than the i3 4GB version, which I was unsure would be good enough.

And John Lewis 2 year warranty.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 includes Signature Typecover i5 8GB 128GB (2 year warranty).

Hope it is an ok deal!! I just sold my used Pro 5 with no typecover for £625 last month which I bought new from currys including typecover for £680 18 months ago. Crazy

what price people buy second hand things for! Still have the typecover to sell also. Not sure how much a 2nd hand signature grey typecover is worth on ebay?

The surface 6 is the best computer I have ever owned

You get the same deal via the Microsoft store. The bundle starts at £699, but if you choose the 8GB variant, it comes to £779.
Great deal.

I'm holding out for a Surface Pro 6 256gb, they have a good price on these (tablet only) as well today, but it's the platinum and I really want the black one!

I saw that but it is the lesser black typecover, not the signature cover like this one. Also I think it is just 1 year warranty at Microsoft. Unless you can clarify it is 2 year warranty that would be interesting.

Can the storage be expanded with a memory card?

Thank you, but it does not specify if by adding a micro sd card that it increases the effective internal storage space, which is what I'm looking for. So I can buy the 128gb version and increase its storage capacity, to run programs and edit files from it as if it was one larger drive.

With Microsoft, its 1 year warranty. Microsoft gives 7% cashback from tcb though, John Lewis 2%. Still its better to buy from JL for extra 1 year warranty I think.

\it mounts as a separate device and is slower. Perfectly usable I have a 128GB one in my surface 4 runs hd video fine. I would have programs on the SSD and data on the SD card. If your a power user your more likely to be held back to the processor throttling as there is no fan ( there is on the i7 but it still throttles to prevent overheating) and memory. Unless your a dev or doing video editing these are unlikely to be issues.
Can you buy surfaces with sim card slots ? Sorry noob question

What's the difference in typecovers?
rbones22/11/2019 21:03

What's the difference in typecovers?

Not 100% sure but one is alcantara signature velour material nice and comfy, I assume the cheaper black is a shiny smooth material, maybe since type of plastic. But I think they work the same, just a finish material at the end of the day. Plus signature keyboards are in a choice of colours usually like at Microsoft.
I would recommend a 128gb or bigger micro SD memory card for this to double the memory for about under £15

It can handle stuff like Dota 2, fallout 4, etc. It's a fab tablet, great deal here, it launched at £900 a month ago without the keyboard.
So tempted...

That is correct, they don’t do i3 or 128gb in black. Black starts at i5 256gb

that is pity. black colour, 128gb more ssd, cost 160 more. hmm, hard to justify. the platinum is really not my favour! annoying! johnlewis even does not have black 256gb model either! it is so costy to get a black colour!
128gb no chance cold
Like every single launch of the Surface pro in recent years' the deals start now, just a few weeks after launch. Just like previous launches, they rarely get any better until a few weeks before the next launch. This is no exception. The surface pro 6 is still one of the best devices out there. The 7 has just gone one step further!

BTW, Ignore the people who drool over specs. This is about actually using a device. Storage is expandable, the i5 and 8GB handles a lot of work. The screens are amazing.

I do recommend getting a pen. It is what makes the experience.

It wouldn’t take much to put a 1TB Micro SD card in there. You can even sync one drive with it.

However, I have found that for work, cloud and 128GB is doing it for me.

You wouldn't want to run apps off an SD card, very slow. 128GB is sufficient, shove everything in the cloud.

128 gb seems enough for work related apps. surface is for games or movies really. I do those with my big oled tv. for movies, you can still expand with sd card.

It’ll get by with the lower end of games. It isn’t a gaming machine. These advert riddled racing games run well on the sp6.
is this the black friday price? if buy from johnlewis, no choice of black in either 128 or 256 version, the nicer things are the signature cover and extra one year warranty, cannot refuse that, just the platinum colour really annoying!!

Yes. I’m sure it’ll take a 1TB without issue.

This is now standard practice for Microsoft, and the deals don’t get better than right now. At least not until just before the next gen comes out. This is an amazing deal.
mcav23/11/2019 16:41

You won’t regret it.

Amen, these things are freaking awesome.

Ive got an SP5, 256gb, grade A from some refrubished ebay page for £410. Its the shiz, way quicker than my zenbook too.

How is the battery life? Nice device if battery life is on par with ipad pro.
half of ipadpro battery life

half of ipadpro battery life

Man its so much better though.
I was using the ipad since Jan this year for my work, which requires me to take it around everywhere, work in coffee shops, etc.

The surface is an order of magnitude more convenient. Windows is just so much more versatile, and you forget that until you use it. Having that keyboard and trackpad speeds things up, as does the speed of changing between windows, downloading files, transferring things to memory sticks.

The ipad really is a toy. This is a full blown PC. I sold my ipad

You dont miss the battery. This lasts 7 hours, and charges to 50% in like 30mins. Ive never had a battery issue and I'm out 7am - 10pm some days.
Got a pro 6 right now, gonna wait till black friday to see if it gets cheaper. would bite at £699 which is what i paid for this when it came out

Ideally you wouldn't, I agree. But with a sd card that has A1 or A2 support, the speed is alright - not as slow as non a1/2 cards by a long way. Certainly not nvme speeds, but perfectly usable for most common apps. Spanks traditional hdds out of the park and plenty of people still use them without issue

I've run loads of apps off a1/2 cards and can't say I've really been waiting around for anything. Going to be dependent on what you put on them for sure though!

is that quidco cashback confirmed? It says selected surface products too. Bear in mind the JL gives an extra year of warranty, and surfaces are pretty unreliable
