Hot! The keyboard is lovely. The bundle I got last BF was £764 and had only the standard type keyboard.

BTW, 4GB is more than enough for many work based tasks outside of photo/audio/video work, there's no point comparing this to a laptop, and yes, you ought to get the pen.

Thanks, I'd been looking to buy for a few days as noticed that the Microsoft store had dropped their price but wanted to charge £25 extra for the Alcantara type cover.

Currys/PCWorld then price-matched including the Alcantara (but didn't have the Burgundy colour I wanted) and also only had the Aqua one in stock for home delivery.

This bundle did not appear on the JL website by searching 'Surface Pro' and I only found it by accident when searching the type cover. The 3 year guarantee was a major consideration, so I ordered yesterday morning with the Burgundy type cover. Looking forward to it being delivered.

John Lewis for the customer service every time. In the case of large televisions/AV kit, JL or Richer Sounds

Enjoy your new device.
Worth considering purchasing from the Microsoft directly if you have an American Express card. One of the current offers is £100 off a £500 spend, so this will bring down the exact deal to £674 plus go through quidco for extra £20 off or so. So potentially a saving of £95 or so on the JL price.

Of course the discounts are not guaranteed but i've had no problems on the AMEX offers in the past.
Should I pay the extra £330 for the i5 8GB 256GB bundle at £1079? Will be used mainly for browsing and comic reading but would like the option to photo editing/creating in photoshop etc......

Got a couple of days left with a John Lewis price match. Was kinda waiting on the ipad pro 2018 as I do miss having a tablet and had ipad since day one. But I dislike ipad not having mouse support but equally don't love the surface pro trackpad.

The chances of getting a 4GB device to do reasonable in depth Photoshop is slim, but given that one of your alternative device will be a new iPad pro, it seems like the kind of photo editing you have in mind will work more than well enough on the 4GB surface pro.

Got a powerful desktop for my design work so not sure the Surface Pro i5 8GB RAM is essential as I want it more for the tablet form factor. But 4GB feels like it definitely wont be enough. Kicking myself hard for not jumping on a Surface Book 2 deal/price glitch now as I'd much prefer a true laptop form factor that can become a tablet but not liking the alternative 2-1s when compared with Surface Pro.

You'll know that the 4GB will never manage photoshop with large photos, multiple layers and so on. On the other hand, I know first hand with experience of the 4GB devices that they'll function very well for everything else. I owned the SP3 from around its launch, and only upgraded to the 2017 SP last Black Friday. My workflow on my SP is pretty much the same every day. Office, NVivo, Mendeley, Onenote, Web, SPSS (Although that's being used less these days), Spotify, Skype, Media consumption.

No graphics work, which is why 4GB works for me. Even if I were 'running out of RAM' the swap is sufficient for my purposes that I don't notice it. That will not be the case when you've got heave RAW manipulations going on.

It sounds to me like the Surface Book 2 is the machine for you, but yeah, hopefully a deal will swing your way soon.

Thanks for heads up on Amex but looked like it doesn't include the type cover.

Are you saying John Lewis price matched a Surface Pro? With which store?
