Have been looking for a microsoft surface pro keyboard for some time now and came across this. Although its Italian keyboard it is qwerty and does everything and any changes can be made through the surface pro

not to much of a difference just some of the keys have accents and different lettering but if you've setup the keyboard setting right on your surface everything should be all good

I would expect it will be difficult to get the £ sign - that's normally only on UK keyboards I think, as you might expect...

Just change the keyboard layout setting in the system, it will still punch out £ sign regardless what the actual key says.

Great price - but not for everybody - depends on how you type and what you do. Since it's for a tablet and not laptop - if you use it occasionally it may be OK. Voted hot.

If you use \ ' ! $ @ ~ # e.g. programming the change of location will drive you mad - especially if you use other computers with UK layout; having done something similar (bought cheap US layout backlit as UK was too expensive) it's just not worth it.

You can force UK layout and put stickers but number of keys per row can be different so you can't map them to UK exactly.

Can you use this on other devices?

missleading

It's just a bluetooth keyboard.Image lifted from EBay to show layout.

it connects directly to the surface/surface pro and not a bluetooth keyboard

As much as I hate my touch keyboard I think the differences would drive me mad. Heat for the deal though.

Not a Bluetooth keyboard. For the price probably worth a go if you've got a Surface needing one, huge saving!

£27.50 in Tesco for the UK Version if you're looking for a UK one.

Instore i'm afraid; I did check to see if it was online but it looks like they've discontinued them.

Might be a bit of a goosechase, but worth having a look.

Man this is awesome, I've always wanted to type BONJORNO in one keystroke! Wicked/!

It comes with a horn button. It may also have more than one backspace key.

are these official keyboards and will they fit a surface pro

I suppose you could get a set of keyboard stickers, and just change the layout. I paid £50 for mine off ebay some months ago, this was the UK version. I would probably go for this one with stickers if I were buying now!

This is a good deal. I am English but bought a Danish Surface Touch Keyboard when I was in Copenhagen for like £20. If you can touch type, you don't even notice some of the keys being in different place, as long as you go into the settings and tell Windows to treat it as a UK keyboard.

can these fit a surface pro

You obviously do need a new keyboard....

I bought a generic (Apple Style) compact bluetooth keyboard for the pro and it works like a dream. I would reccomend that solution to anyone wanting to type on the Surfaces. I hate the touch cover with a passion, its like typing on cloth and half the keystrokes don't even register. This Touch cover may perform better but its still outrageous how pricey these official keyboards are.

Cheap price if you're desperate. Note that this does not have backlit keys. Better off biding your time and look on fleabay for a Type 2 backlit UK layout keyboard for around £50.

just jumped up to 20... oO

Backlit keys are one of those things which sound very handy but are pretty useless in practice. Even if someone can't blind type perfectly, most of the time your display will light the keys well enough for you to find what you're looking for. In general, LED's also drain the battery like crazy: My Logitech K810 lasts about a week with the lights and a month without. This is (was) a great deal, would definitely not spend the extra bucks to get lights.

Not a company I would recommend

Well, for my Surface Pro, I replaced a Touch 1 keyboard with a Type 2 backlit and wouldn't be without it. In low light conditions, for example, when someone else is watching tv, it is invaluable. The backlighting can be switched off with a keystroke and doesn't noticeably use much power when on. Lost count of the occasions in the past when I've had to tilt the screen to identify a particular key. Let's just agree to differ.

Some people are surely desperate enough to pay triple the price to have that feature, the point I'm making is that it's not a particularly useful one for everyone. Glad it improved your typing accuracy in the dark though!

Huh what does this have to do with Apple ???

I bought a keyboard of these idiots a few years back - the picture and title was a Qwerty keyboard and they sent an Azerty one.

Their attitude sucks TBH read the 300 negative/Neutral feedback on Ebay and you will see what I mean?

Just got mine - I expected much worse. Actually, this thing feels brilliant! £15.99 well spent.
