Is this a standalone product? I need to upgrade from Vista.

Amazon would be better as it's free delivery there

You can't upgrade from any OS, it's a new install.

It's a brilliant piece of software - much better than Vista and a bargain at this price. PC world are also doing it for around this price too.

You'd be better off getting it from] PC World and then adding a 97p clearance item to get free delivery

I know there have been lots of deals flying through here for Win7 pro - but they have all expired, so does anyone know the best (ie. cheapest!) place to get win7 professional from?

Just paid £45 at PCWorld online for home without adding anything extra.

does anyone know how to get 64bit version as that what i want. please advise.

It comes with 64 and 32 bit version
I swear i read it on another thread here when someone asked the same question

microsoft.com/uk/…spx.
Says 32 or 64 bit

think he meant £44.99 each

it's 44.99 at pc world with 0.00 for delivery

just ordered one

and quidco at 2%!!

Does anyone know if you can legitimately install it on more than one PC in your home? I heard something about it.. Family pack?? Is that standard in the home edition?

I just bought this and postage was 0.00, unless I've got confused somewhere along the line...

bought, job done

Mine says free delivery.

Anyone know when they will take payment? Will it not be until Oct?

Tried Spenspuma's Comet but whist the Comet search comes up with £44.99 the product page will only show £49.99.
I followed Scoobeesnac's tip and ordered from PCWorld at £44.99 inc PP. Delivery is stated around 22 October 2009.

Comet are abismal with pricing, they havent got a clue. Lucky i got mine in with Amazon at £44.99 :w00t:

Well by that time you will have liked it and bought the retail version or reverted back to your old O/S, not sat there with a gormless look on your face while your PC shuts down:thumbsup:

Got my 3 copies from Comet this morning. Lots of places selling out and prices going up already

Bought 2 from Comet for £44.99p each and free delivery (click on the link displayed on the comet home page rather than any search or it will load into the basket at £49.99).

There is a downside though: Comet will take your money now rather than bill you before dispatch so the Amazon offer was better but as they are out of stock Comet seems to be a good alternative.

Delivery is free it says.

just got an email this morning, Amazon is doing the same price:thumbsup:

These offers are for a single license only, so only the one PC allowed (you could try installing it on 2 rigs but I would imagine the 2nd one wouldn't pass activation)

Does anyone know if you can install this alongside Vista (dual-boot)? I know you can't do an 'upgrade' so it's clean install but dual-O/S systems have always floated my boat for some bizarre reason ...

You should be able to. Probably best to install 7 on a different hard drive though then use a boot manager program to sort out the correct entries that give you the choice of OS when booting up.

I've been running XP as a second OS to my primary VIsta one for a year or so and that works fine (had to apply a registry fix to stop the XP deleting Vista's restores points but other than that it was fairly simple to set up).

Amazon are out of stock on both at the moment (used up whatever allotment Microsoft have given them). They might well get more in but that's gonna be up to Microsoft.
