Ok, seeing as the offer at a lot of places has expired, I thought I'd post this for any stragglers.

£5 postage is charged, but then deducted again before checkout because of clubcard points earned (you DON'T need a clubcard though).

If you're planning on buying Windows 7, I'd snap this up quick because Tesco will probably follow suit soon and bump it up to £125+

Price now £49.97

why cold?

Probably because you could buy it for 4.9p more cheaply 15 years ago.

oi, gerrof my avatar!!!

good choice fella.

as for cold, prob got something to do with distrust of microsoft after the abortion that was vista. (I'll be sticking with XP until the olympic village is a slum)

haha

I have voted hot for this as it is the lowest price around now, and I think it will not stay at this price for very long. However I also do not trust Microsoft, and think they are a rip off organisation, but there is limited choice Apple Mac which I think is over priced or the Free Linus OS which is a specialised packagae.

I still don't get it. If I have Vista, do I buy this? Or this is just for system builders?

you get this one.

unless you got vista AFTER 26th June 2009, in which case you're probably eligible for a free upgrade:

If you're happy with what you have then you don't NEED to get this

I voted hot, but be warned, you pay up-front for Tesco pre-order.

XP Emulation, where 7 works as if it is XP, isn't included in this version, which some may want, to ensure that they have full compatibility.

Apparantly it isn't really required very often, as most software that works with Vista (which should be a majority by now) works on 7, though you might just want to use a virtual machine with XP installed if you ever do need it, saves on £100 to get Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate.

please change the price to £49.97. It says free delivery now!
