You could always have extra batteries so you're ready to go....

But why? A wired keyboard isn’t annoying. I can understand a mouse though.

Great for freeing up a usb port - only one port required for both keyboard and mouse instead of the usual two

Because it's nice not to have wires.

Anyone know how this compares with the 'Logitech MK330 Wireless Combo Keyboard and Mouse' on offer at amazon for £19.99?

Been using an older version of this keyboard and mouse, the battery dies after atleast 2 years if not more on these, I bought so many extra but haven't had to change them much.

I have the Logitech MK330, a Microsoft Wireless Desktop 800, a cheap Sumvision wireless keyboard and mouse and the Microsoft Wireless Desktop 2000. In my personal opinion, the MS 2000 is the best of the bunch.

I'm on my second Wireless 2000 as the receiver stopped being recognised in Windows and had to be re-inserted into the USB port. Then it just completely died on me. I kept my receipt in the box and noticed that it was only just within the warranty period (by a month or so). So, I contacted Microsoft and sent them a copy of my receipt. They sent a replacement from Germany within a few days - I was expecting it to take longer to get to me as they said the item was out of stock.

I've had the replacement wireless keyboard and mouse set for about two years and, touch wood, it's working fine and has not started to lose the connection via the wireless USB dongle.

I reviewed both and after much deliberation they are similar but the size of the usb dongle did it for me , the Microsoft one is a large full size one, the Logitech is a micro version
Hi I have a surface pro 2017 and want to connect via BT to keyboard to save using the usb port. Will this keyboard connect to Surface Pro without use of dongle, i.e directly via bluetooth?

...And it's nice to be able to sit various distances away in front of your big TV - wired keyboard is fixed length
