This has been in the Amazon deals list at over £50 even though the list said it should be £9.99 so surely its a mistake as everywhere I looked today it was between £40 to £100.

Very strange, the gremlins are in my deal button!

I even tried copy/paste your link to the button and still it didnt work.

Thanks for the working link anyway

It's working now Mike Thanks for this! Great price...

Original Poster Moderator

Ordered one myself, couldnt resist at that price, each part of this suit is selling for more individually than the total here.
Thanks for the fix Ray

Doesn't have a very good customer review though.

Original Poster Moderator

Perhaps that customer paid £100+ for it

Here's a couple of the many positive reviews for it, at a lot more cost than it is now too.

Hopefully it wont be another one of those times Amazon hangs onto the order for ages and finally tells you they can't dispatch six weeks later!

If it is a misprice go for 1st class or express delivery, I`ve noticed if you go for super saver delivery you never get the item:thumbsup:

Availability: usually dispatched within 1 to 2 weeks. Dispatched from and sold by Amazon.co.uk.

So I doubt making it first class delivery will do much good

Amazon are usually good for honouring mis-prices. No harm trying for it and it's such a great offer, I nearly bought it twice

If you only have Microsoft Word, then it is worth upgrading to this. Which version of Word do you have installed?

Bargain! Work it for Autoroute alone.

Alternatively, you could download for free a full version of ]openoffice.
If you're a home user, you'll find it does everything you need (and probably more).
Anyway, I recommend it

(although I have to say this Works offer is pretty good and saves you the download)

Stick Autoroute on the laptop and plug a GPS reciever into it and have some fun in the car (poor mans satnav ;))
Some of the speedtrap warning devices also have a gps output that will do for a reciever too.
The mapping is quite impressive on a 15" lapy screen too, cant quite see it dash mounted though!

Plus you get Encarta Encyclopedia Standard 2005 Edition, Microsoft Photo Premium 10, AutoRoute 2005, which you don't get with OpenOffice

But I agree, for free, OpenOffice is highly recommended, if that's all you want or need

Thanks Thom and Welcome to HotUKDeals by the way!

Free delivery is SuperSaver and normally takes around 3 to 5 days for despatch of in-stock goods.

1st Class/Express is for in-stock goods to be sent out within 24 hours.

On saying that, whenever I use SuperSaver on in-stock goods, the delivery is within 2 or 3 working days.

I remember seeing this for 19.99 at Amazon a few weeks ago. They are probably trying to sell out the remaining copies and make space for the new version.]

Cheers rayman

Is there any point going for 1st class delivery, when there is a 1-2 week delay on despatching this this item ?

Thanks
Daniel

There is if you want it faster as soon as it's back in-stock But if you can wait, their free delivery is worth it!

Ordered mine thanks

Hi Rayman

I have version Microsoft Works version 7.0

Thanks for the info...I recall you being very helpful when I was updating my PC ..so thanks and lots of karma for that too.

I've been looking over the Works Suite and it should prove really useful

You're welcome jofran

After reading some reviews online, I think you might have problems unless you uninstall Works 7 before installing Works 8 because it is called Word Processor in 7 rather than Word. As far as I know, it's Word and Word Processor that conflict.

If you have the installation discs for Works 7 uninstalling shouldn't be difficult, but without it, I think it leaves unwanted data that might cause those problems.

Of course, if you just want it for Encarta, PhotoPremium 10 and AutoRoute, you could install those.

For anyone considering this for personal use, why not just use OpenOffice?!

www.openoffice.org

A fantastic alternative to Microsoft Office, and is better than Microsoft Works in just about every way!

This is Works Suite though blizeH It's got Encarta, AutoRoute and PhotoPremium 10, which on their own are worth about this much each...

Thanks for pointing that out animal.

Surely they will have to honour any order already placed.

This used to happen with DVD's from Amazon if you remember, the Amazon deals pages used to give some prices that when followed through were not as low as the deal said, if you checked daily sooner or later they would get to the low price, then jump back up again.
Lets hope we dont all get out of stock emails.

From our Amazon deals pages just now

Works Suite 2005 (5 CD's)
List Price: £109.99
Amazon Price: £9.99
You Save: £100.00 (91%)

So keep an eye on it if you didnt get one yet as it may still come back down again.

Bizarre, when I bought my two copies yesterday, I used super saver free shipping.

Today, when I chose to upgrade the delivery on my order, it was £33 for 1st class delivery or £7 for express.

So its cheaper to select the most expensive and quickest delivery?!!?!

Dispatch estimate of 26 July so i'll keep you informed!
