why would you buy this over the newer Bluetooth model?

pc might not have bluetooth
issues using bluetooth to connect to pc when using more than 2 controllers or even more than 1?
adapter on own is about £19 so extra £26 for new controller is good I think

I've had a lot of issues with the Xbox One controller on PC with the Microsoft dongle. On some games it is perfect but on others the calibration is all messed up as if the stick is constantly being held to the right, others have reported the issue but I can't seem to find a proper solution.

I had the 360 controllers with it's adaptor previously, which was perfect, sadly sold them for the Xbox One controller and adaptor thinking it would be better but isn't half as good!

I agree the bluetooth controller is probably a better bet, though they are likely to be pricey separate, though definitely a good idea if you get an Xbox One S...

Well I guess it depends on the game, I've not had an issue with mine yet. But yes xbox 360 controller is better supported.
-40 seems harsh when the controller on its own got 232 degrees hot for £35

£10 extra and you get the wireless adapter which is normally about £19 seems decent deal to me.

some old games do not work with the xbox one controller such as half life 2 and Fear

I'll second the ms dongle issues, the connection is very hit and miss, even up close. The old 360 was flawless.

Apparently the just released PS4 equivalent is also pretty poor for native PC use too.

It seems Bluetooth has issues as well according to forum posts. I had Bluetooth problems with my ds4 pad and bluetooth receiver. So I'll be trying this set up. Supposedly the wireless adapter supports up to 8 pads at a time, so signal should be stronger and more stable than a Bluetooth set up. We shall see.

I've not had a good experience with Bluetooth and my DS4 pad on PC, with regular connection drops. Have also read on forums of people complaining about the same with the new Xbone Bluetooth controller. Considering this wireless adapter supports up to 8 pads, it should have a stronger and more stable signal than a regular Bluetooth receiver.
