What made you downgrade?

It's a strange one. Went from "YEEEE 3 x ACER Predators and 1080ti PCMR!!!" to "Meh, I kind of want to just get in from work and slouch on a sofa in pants with a controller in my hand.".

Completely personal preference, but I pretty much just got sick of always looking over the fence for the latest GPU only to realise it's £1200 after I only just shelled out £800 on the previous model.

Work became pretty intense and all of a sudden PC gaming just kind of dissolved in my life.

... I do miss dat sweet 144Hz 1440p though.

Good thing you asked for his opinion only to try and argue with it.

Of course you could plug your PC into your lounge TV, but that's not a very good position for whatever else you might want to do on it.

Just accept that, judging by game sales, most people prefer consoles.

Anyone buy from here? 90 day warranty putting me off. As Argos Refurb offers year.

Yeah I’m also curious what these are like...
Would probably go second hand over refurbished. Grabbed one last week for £250 including delivery and four games. Seen a few similar deals out there.

Can't get over the thing though, pretty damn good. Sold a PC with 8700k and 1080ti for it and more than satisfied.

All Xbox One X owners should get themselves an SSD and a USB 3.0 SATA caddy, costs around £30-40 for 256GB SSD. Move your games over to it and it increases performance massively, despite being externally connected! Crazy that premium consoles still come with a HDD as standard.

I use both too.

I have all consoles in fact, although considering selling my One X as it's the least I use out of the 3 (Pro, Switch and One X).

But I would never move completely from PC to Console which how much better it is in certain aspects.

Sales are better because they are more affordable.

The One X is better value for money, don't get me wrong.

I just would never be able to go fully back to consoles after seeing how much better games run on PC in comparison.

Its crazy nowadays, but when these consoles were released, SSD prices were too much to make the consoles affordable if they chucked in a 1TB SSD etc.

I fully expect the new consoles next year to have SSD, though.

Does it matter what the reason is? The fact is that PC gaming is tiny in comparison to console gaming. It also doesn't matter if you "would never move completely" - you don't have to persuade people on the Internet to copy you to justify your own choices.

I both console game and PC game, although I would not buy an Xbox solely because of Games For Windows means I do not miss out.

Admittedly I only have a moderate gaming rig (Ryzen 1600, 16GB, RX480 8GB). I tend to find I spend more time trying to optimise or troubleshoot than play when it comes to PC gaming and mainly retro game emulate instead.

The Tomb Raider reboot games (particularly Rise) are a constant source of ballache on PC.

I believe around 35% of Americans who game, are PC gamers, I wouldnt say that is tiny in comparison.

I don't know what the statistic is for UK but I assume it's similar.

I've completed all 3 newer Tomb Raider games on PC without issue. So I'm not sure what's happened there for you.

Then again, I hear theres game breaking bugs in games like.... Fallout 76 , but in the short ish time I played it, I didn't come across any either.

That never really works. I'm not going to keep my main rig in the living room as it's too big, it requires a keyboard and a mouse, can't just switch it on with a button on a controller. I don't think there is a perfect solution on a PC to give the same console like experience
I just like to look at the shiny lights on my PC, my Xbox one is good for heating the room during the colder days though

Steam Big Picture , gives a nice console-like experience.

I believe you can set it up so it starts on run-up.

Sure you may have to physically push the power button on the PC, but will you really miss those 3 seconds you missed between turning it on via controller button?

Can I switch the PC on using Xbox / PS4 / Stream controller and make it go straight to the overlay? Can I truly go away with using the m+k?

Loads of issues particularly with Rise crashing...but I most certainly would not be without my PS4 for Sony exclusives. The PC is a great tool for emulation with texture mods on old console games though.
I have one for sale if anybody interested.

Bought from John Lewis in Jan this year. Comes with 2 years JL warranty. Will provide receipt as well.

Very good condition. Hardly used.

Can I quote you every time some PC elitists comes to one of those threads to bash Xbox one x and consoles in general?:)

Your story is my story - following constantly evolving PC market just got tedious! All I wanted to do is play games stress free- insert the dvd with game and that’s it! Guaranteed the game would work regardless whether it was released at the beginning of consoles life or the end of its life cycle!
Even better, it is always guaranteed the games released later in consoles life will look better as devs learn all tips and tricks!
Of course I would love super duper PC every 3/4 years but life is too short and there are better things to spend money on!:)

You don't need a new PC every 3/4 years. Plus, a new gaming PC every 4 years isn't exactly terrible.

My old PC lasted me 6-7 years.

If you try and push for the latest and best thing, then maybe. But low-medium settings 4K 30fps, is overrated, for example. Much prefer 1080p high/ultra 60fps.

Still unsure why PC gaming is apparently so stressful? I rarely come across errors or bugs. Weird.

I stick to single player games on PC as the graphics, loading times etc are stupidly better, but switch to console for exclusives and competitive shooters, as I suck with mouse and keyboard for that and it doesnt really matter how nice a game looks when you're too busy being competitive lol.

I did something similar last gen, I was back fairly quick as the grass was in no way greener. Games that took ages to install or download, slow internal storage, more janky graphics, having to pay for online, paying more for games, lack of customisation, lack of modding, and ultimately for me having to sit and wait for updates. I went back to PC and I refuse to go totally console again, I’m pretty happy with the PC and Nintendo Switch combo.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed some great games, but I missed the simplicity of Steam and how slick it is. I didn’t have a single experience of just “sticking in a DVD” and playing a game, there was nearly always an install which took ages, or a patch (even on day one), I got sick of looking at loading screens.

Plus I like FPS/TPS games which are way better with a keyboard and mouse.

Horribly incorrect.

PC gaming outstrips all consoles put together just so you know. In terms of hardware sales, games sales, revenue, everything. Try keeping up with old news like this.

PC gaming is the most popular form of home gaming on the planet. In China alone there are over 200 million users of Tencent's gaming platform, the biggest portal there focused on PC gamers.

That's more than every PS4, Xbox One and Switch console sold globally since the generation started nearly 6 years ago. And then some! Keep in mind, this is just China and some close asian countries. Steam has a completely different market oriented towards the west with another set of users (counted well in excess of 100 million) and likely fairly small overlap.....
