Whats wrong with the game?

Was looking forward to this game. Ruined by micro transactions. Hope people stay away from this and/or the micro transactions.

I'll wait until this becomes £1.50 at CDkeys like the last

Not ruined by micro transactions at all? I have the game, it's so much fun and the Mts are completely optional as you earn plenty of in-game currency. It's only there if you want a super quick experience of the game.

According to most reviews I have read;
"There are loot box micro transactions and the developers assured everyone before release that the game had been balanced/designed around NOT using them but having played the game, I can now confirm they lied. That horrendous, boring grind at the end of the game is clearly there to strong-arm people into buying those loot boxes."

"You can't even get the true ending unless you have legendary orc followers. This was clearly made to make the loot boxes more appealing due to the tedious grind you'd have to do in order to get them. Vote with your wallet folks, "

This game...already cheap. Will drop quickly in my opinion. Just like the first (which I loved).

Are the legendary orcs simply people in your army that have (legendary) at the end of their name? I already have one or two and played for maybe 10 hours max

The code was a one hour flash sale deal, just had the email, they will now knock off 5% (for the next 24hrs only), giving you £1.95 off the price.

You really ought not to put any trust in Metacritic user reviews as a source, even where they're not the extreme 0s or 10s. The micro-transactions are controversial, sure, but it's far from "most" reputable reviews saying that they're required.

Should they be on this game probably not but again you don't need to buy them

Over 25 hours into it and I'm loving the hell out of it. Haven't even opened a single loot box. I'm still in act 2 and have 5 legendary Orcs so far. With another being a Warchief I've still to fight and one follower legendary Orc has just died recently. Anyone really looking to play this but refuse to do so because of reviewers, they are really missing out. I'm not happy about microtransactions either but I'm enjoying the game so much I haven't seen a need for them and have no intention of ever spending a penny on that.

Is it not the trophy hunters?? Some games you have to grind ALOT of time but micros reduce the time significantly in some cases

Maybe I'm loving this game I'm going for the full 100% completion on it and as long as you do e everything on it you want have any issue with the 4th act and grinding as people put it gets bit repetitive but what game doesn't when finishing it to 100% 😊

It is shocking practice and they have deliberately designed aspects of the game to encourage the micro transaction purchases. You don't have to have played the game to get that, if you hear the game has that then you are hardly going to go buy it. It should not be encouraged. Games like Destiny are driving this and it will make the games industry worse for the gamers.

How does shadow of war compare to the first one? I did enjoy the first but the few vids I’ve seen of new one look a lot different.

I enjoyed the first one even with repetitiveness, I used go for an objective and just kill instead, such a fun game, hoping this to be as good

But as I put you don't NEED to buy them I certainly won't be and I'm happy to spend the time completing it to 100%, if that's the only reason stopping people buying this game them gamers in General are knackered as pretty much most games have them now days in big releases

The game was made harder to incentivise buying loot crates, doesn't matter if you can get by without them, they still wanted to screw you over. Why would you defend that? I'm not bothering with this or Battlefront 2 because of the things, I can live with cosmetics in loot crates, but not when they are integral to the base enjoyment of a game I'm paying full price for. These companies are literally bending you over and you're all taking it with a smile.

Use code REC20

And you just made my point they are happening weather you like it or Not, so your not gonna play 1 of the best games released this year plus another triple aaa title battlefront 2 that's up to you, just because of microtransactions that you don't need to buy and I can't see them stopping anytime soon, I'm hating the way they are going but people do seem to forgot most new games cost around £40 now same as games 15/20 years ago the game companies are doing everything to get money, microtransactions, season passes, etc

It it all stems from the disappointment, I will pick it up at the end of its cycle when it is down to £15.

You do make a good point with regard to the price of games not actually increasing with inflation. When people complain about £40 for a game I do think that it is actually cheap considering the cost of the game and the amount of hours enjoyment out of it you recieve.

The problem with this particular case is that they have pushed it a little further with the design of the game to incentivise just giving in and paying.

Yeah, I'm just not going to play it and stick to my principles, others are too so hopefully this bull will leave games eventually. It'll get a gold edition release with all that crap thrown in anyway, I'll just wait. I'll just play one of the many other amazing AAA games that came out this year. The £40 price point may be the same, but that's down to the fact that these companies still pay their workers the same amount or less (they even just get rid of staff now afterwards) and sell significantly more copies, it's not like they're losing out at all.

Only thing for me is if everyone did what your doing and trust me iv'e been tempted on a few games then those games will never get a sequel or a new ip as most get shut down if the game hasn't done well which could be the case for this over the massive issue with micro transactions i'm just hoping that's not the case as loved this game and the original
