One of last years best horror movies at a bargain price.

Dani and Christian are a young American couple with a relationship on the brink of falling apart. But after a family tragedy keeps them together, a grieving Dani invites herself to join Christian and his friends on a trip to a once-in-a-lifetime midsummer festival in a remote Swedish village. What begins as a carefree summer holiday in a land of eternal sunlight takes a sinister turn when the insular villagers invite their guests to partake in festivities that render the pastoral paradise increasingly unnerving and viscerally disturbing. From the visionary mind of Ari Aster comes a dread-soaked cinematic fairytale where a world of darkness unfolds in broad daylight.

Is this not just a re-imagining of The Wicker Man?
Surprisingly really enjoyed this movie
Same price instore at Sainsbury's. No slipcase now though.
Awful awful movie
It's been at £7 for a couple of weeks. Probably cheap because anyone with Amazon Prime can see it for free.
Utter trash, went to see it at the cinema and people were walking out it was that bad

Rotten Tomatoes gave it 83%, but I haven't seen it to comment.
Not seen this yet but I'm not expecting anything great so may be pleasantly surprised.

I love the wicker man (not Nicholas cage!) & am really looking forward to the sequel the loathsome lambton worm on Friday!

Brilliant movie, if the last film you seen was the emoji movie then this isn't for you.
Saw this the other night and wished I hadn’t bothered...a total waste of time.
such an overrated, terrible film! Wasted time of my life that I will never get back!!
Craziest movie I have ever see.
Marmite but I loved it.
Haters on here have got no taste. Stick to transformers.
if this movie was about other ethnicity the racisem accusations would have been ,,,...............
2 1/2 hours of your life wasted.

Well done me too a bit of a copy of Wicker man with a bit of Hostel style grossout horror and like the others all the so called intellectuals loved all 3 of those boring movies!

That is exactly what I was thinking.
Usual Hollywood though. Steal others ideas and then claim it's theirs
They have a "Burning Man" thing over there too - and don't have the grace to admit where they got the idea from

Kind of, it’s similar in concept but both enjoyable films. If you think about it, most genre films rehash similar stories.

I don't think either could be described as 'enjoyable'. They might attempt to be artistic, but in reality they show the worst of human nature.
The worst of human nature is never enjoyable, simply evil and filth put into celluloid.

Lol really no. Not everyone that shares your taste in film has to be a movie ignoramus. Horror has been done so much better than this rambling, self glorified wannabe art house pulp. You could tell in the first 20 minutes where the film was going. I mean most of the cast can't even act! Characters would die and the others, that were supposed to be friends just carried on like.. ah well just another day in Sweden As others have mentioned the story is convoluted and ripped straight from Wicker Man (which was an amazing horror film btw).

If you want to see some good horror films go back and check out the old Japanese horror films, now that ish will make you properly uncomfortable and they are genuinely well crafted and acted. Even compared to western films (if you can't handle subtitles) it doesn't hold a candle to films like the Shining, Psycho, Rosemary's Baby and the original Texas chainsaw massacre.
Lol, some on here should just stick with Jumanji... which I also liked just as much as this.
The thing is there are literally zillions of good ideas in old comics from the 1980's like 2000AD, TORNADO, STARLORD, CAPTAIN BRITAIN etc etc etc

How about WOLFIE SMITH, BLACKHAWK, ROGUE TROOPER (although I hear they are making it), FLESH, STRONTIUM DOG, MELTDOWN MAN and my personal favourite LAND OF THE DAMNED....

Hell even those titles are more imaginative than most movies coming out at the mo!

Yes they were actually. Captain "you weren't there". They started to walk out at the sex scene.
Made me re-think the Midsommers I’ve been too that’s for sure.
