I have been looking for a Miele Tumble Dryer for a while and managed to pick up a Miele T294c. My husband reserved this for £349.97 yesterday, when we went to collect and pay for it today it had been reduced by a further £50 for £299.97!!!!! This retails from around £550.

My mother-in-law also bought a W1713 Miele Washing Machine for £449.97, this usually retails from around £650.

She questioned the discount and the sales staff told her that Currys will no longer be stocking Miele products and are selling off what they have. I have checked on line and cant find any Miele products.

You may need to ring around as we are in Llanelli and my Mother-in-law had to go to Cardiff Newport Road Store to get the Washing Machine.

I believe there is also a free 5 year parts and labour offer on some of the washing machines see the promotions section on the Miele website.

This may not be for everyone as I know the sale price probably brings them in line with other products but you cannot beat Miele for build quality.

Why the cold votes?

I know Miele are not cheap, but if Miele is what you want there are really great deals to be had.

If voting cold please explain why, if you know of a better deal, please share the info.

I wonder why they are not stocking them anymore?

One things for sure I bet they don't make any money on extended warranties on Miele products especially as Miele give a 5 year warranty for Free!

Gun

BTW, Our Indesit is coming out of its 5 year warranty soon, they want £55 for another years warranty.

Were just going to let it go bang and when it does get a Miele, no 5 year warranty to pay!

Gun

good price its £500-700 elsewhere +9 degrees.

Boiling hot, excellent price on and excellent brand that'll last for years. And yes, if they're not stocking them anymore it's because they can't sell the extended warranties on them - and that's where they make the bulk of my profit. Heat and rep.

not stocking meile anymore..lol, why not stock a decent product, oh i know so they can stock more "last 5 minute beko's"

We previously used a fish to clean our dishes...the results were acceptable, but we'd often find the dishes piled up, with the fish curled up in the corner with a syringe....high as a kite.

It turns out we'd employed a drug haddockt.

You "cod" to be joking!!!!

I have a Miele washing machine and dishwasher, they are so worth the extra money. I have had the Dishwasher 15 years and the washing machine 10 years and i have never had to get either repaired. No rust on either of them.

Are there any on line? I can't find them?
Thanks

Doh - just read the original post again!

Not wishing to pour cold water on Miele. However, just bought a Miele freezer for my mother and it arrived dead, this was after she was sent a fridge in error. First electrical appliance I have ever bought that left the factory dead. So much for quality control. Also what is with the five year warranty, we only got a two year warranty.
Edit. Just checked Miele website and only certain items come with five year warranty. Also glad I checked the website as my mother's two year freezer warranty is effectively one year unless you register for the second year option. How crazy is that. My mother is 87, how the heck would she know how to do that?

The last couple of cheapo dryers I've had have sounded like tractors after a few months use. A repair tech I was chatting to a while ago reckoned this is because all dryers have nylon pulley wheels which wear and become noisy, and this is a problem with all modern dryers including Miele. Can anyone out there confirm this? Or are Miele whisper quiet for the duration? Voted piping hot!

All of that is the shops fault not miele, the shop should have given her a form to fill out. Where did you buy these?

How is a dead freezer the shop's fault.? It came direct from Miele. Shops do not unwrap goods to test them! It was definitely a Miele problem.

Where did you buy them from? Sending you a fridge instead of a freezer is the shops fault, as is not giving you the correct forms.

Problems happen, it could have been the delivery companies fault also. Things like that happen.

Sounds to me live you do want to pour cold water on this.

Just bringing a bit of a reality check. Miele is just like any other manufacturer. They are capable of producing crap just as easlily as Beko, etc.
PS. Miele accepted responsibility for both the delivery of the fridge and of the dead freezer.

Of course they would, they are a reputable company who wants you to be happy and hastle free. That does not mean they were responsible.

And you still refuse to declare the shop you bought them from. Are you on a windup?

I just rang Currys call centre as was interested in buying one but was told they are not stocking them anymore. I asked if there were any in the Country and she said no. Shame. Looked like a great deal.

My experience of Miele is mixed. I had a nice Miele vacuum cleaner which I bought from Currys at a very good price. It performed well until a part broke (the plastic extension hose). It was very difficult to locate spares, and the prices quoted were almost as much as I'd paid for the machine.

I'm afraid to say that your sample of one cannot be extrapolated to cover the whole brand. Appliances do arrive dead, however comprehensively they're checked at the factory. There's the well-known "bath tub curve" of failure rate over time, not to mention the fact that it might have been thrown around by the distributor.

Miele may be great. Miele may be ****. But no conclusions can be drawn from your experience alone, however frustrating it was.

Our Miele dishwahser, washing machine and tumble dryer all perform very well. Can't comment on the life of them since we've only had them 5 years, but they do all still look and operate like new.

The big plus with Miele stuff is the quietness. The dishwasher is almost inaudible and the washing machine has none of the nasty motor whine of cheaper machines.

It's an absolutely smashing deal but unfourtunately not in Leicester.

Miele are a great company. I'm just sending back my vacuum to be repaired after 8 years of use. It’s actually being serviced and any faulty bits get replaced at the same time. It costs under £100 and they’ve just couriered a box to me to send it off.
Courier must cost a fair bit on its own. Most other companies would fob you off and you’d be taking it to the tip.
If you have the money, they are worth the extra.

ECG;5884191

Why the cold votes?

I reckon eBay [ladies of the night] vote down good deals on this site to try to prevent them becoming known about.

A BRAND NEW henry costs £75 or so! Your paying that for a SERVICE - mental!!!!!!

But a Henry just sucks. This, I presume, is a proper cleaner which brushes too.

Why throw away a supurb quality product? The enviromental impact is tremendous.
Yes, mine's an electrobrush one. I don't have to move any furniture because it's so flexible. It can go flat to the floor and still clean properly.

The filtration on Miele is far superior to a Henry.

The reason why most cleaners use a Henry is because they lay a nice layer of dust on the furniture and then they can prove to the customer how often the room needs cleaning.

None in the country according to the call centre.

I agree. I find my Henry a complete let down espically on hairs. Henry gets 31% in which magazine shame i only noticed after. Everyone raves about them from what i have seen because they are reliable. I can bet they are, but if they aren't that good (which i don't think they are as a vacuum) then you have a medicore product for a long time. I'd rather have a product that works better for a lesser time.

I've had a Miele washing machine for 20 years and it's still going strong.. Great to find offers on them.

Shouldn't this be renamed 'Miele bargain at Currys'?

NOT TRUE. Went to my local store (Bangor) and they had none. However, I asked them to do a stock check for the local area and they found at least 8 in the Chester/Wrexham/Manchester area. I think you may just need to go to your local store and do the same. btw, I suspect all the remaining stock are display items as there seems to be only one per store.

FWIW, no point in checking Llandudno as I bought theirs....:)

Your point is ********. Methinks Miele undercover worker at large. Post is about Miele. I have bought Miele. It was ***** experience. Start and end of my experience. Surely worth sharing with others. I never suggested we should generalise or 'extrapolate' as you put it. ******.

Miele don't make any of their cooling appliances - most are made by Liebherr and a their top end Mastercool is made by Siemens.

Miele and Currys have parted company due to a change in terms from Miele - nothing to do with the 5 year guarantee - if it was this they would stop selling Siemens too but they haven't. Miele are trying to stop you getting a good deal by making it hard to sell online at discount prices.

20 years old washer - is that sensible ? would you buy a 4kg washer that uses 96 litres of water ( and more importantly the powder to go in it ) and 2.6kw of electricity per load ?

Erm, you said their quality control was no good - you were generalising. D'oh!

I'd love to know what all the asterisks mean, tee hee!

My mother in law rung customer services and was also told they did not have any stock, she went back to our local store and they did a check on the system instore which is how she located the machine she wanted in Cardiff.

If you are interested, it is worth popping in to ask.

Good Luck!!

Managed to find one of these 35 miles, rang up, reserved it and collecting it in the the morning. Thanks to the original poster. Heat & Rep added.

Thanks.
