Thank you so much! I bought this from John Lewis last weekend for £160, not even had it out of the box yet. Just called them & they refunded me the difference. Thanks Lexb001 - that's paid for my night out tonight!!

Best vac we ever had, we have a collie who loses hair all the time.
If the turbo brush was electric I would buy this. For now I'll stick with my Henry with electric turbo brush.

Thanks op! Bf desperately needed a pet Hoover for his asthma and this is a bargain, he's got a surprise Hoover being delivered in the next few hours.
I've got one of these and it's great. The only downside is the cost of the bags.

I've got one at mine and we have 5 cats, like other poster we only change bags few times a year
Really confused which model this is. On Johnlewis website this one seems to be only 1200 watt . But the specs on argos say its 1600

EU rules have reduced max power of vacuum cleaners! Might be something to do with it.
Grandma vacuum. Surely game over for these
Just bought one when I saw this. TopCashback and Quidco both 1%, Quidco also got £2.50 this weekend. Hold on to your carpets on maximum suction! Fabulous job. Ta
These do better than Dyson in Which tests and given how much cheaper they are, even a lifetime of bags won't make up the difference.

Which tests are done in laboratories with brand new, empty bags. The performance does drop a little as the bag fills, but not by much.
how does this compare to the Shark one on offer?

If that's an accurate reflection of how Which? perform that test, I would be extremely disappointed.

Anyway, I have two of these hoovers and have good performance and reliability. FWIW I have used non-Miele bags in the past, but I feel that the originals perform better albeit at a price.

I know they did about three years ago, unsure if they still do.

IMO Miele are the best bagged vacuum cleaners out there. It's just a shame that the later models have been strangled by the EU energy regs - bagged vacuums rely on a strong motor to keep the performance high. Whether or not you can tell the difference in real life, I wouldn't know. Although when I worked in the industry, the top powered Miele's at the time (2200W) were very hard to push on deep pile carpets in the highest setting, so maybe a slight reduction makes them more useable.

The original bags I suspect would have better filtration.

Dyson have gone down hill. Recently got a shark nv680 and cleans the carpets much better nearly filling the whole dust bin even though I had already cleaned the carpet with the Dyson DC40 already. When I managed to pop open the cyclone part of the DC40 dustbin it was packed with dust which seems to be a common theme with the cyclone units in dysons and more worryingly they aren't designed to be accessed by customers so can't be cleaned and instead just build up with dust within the cyclone tubes. James Dyson used to be a big fan of the EU until they brought in new energy rating labels which effectivly down graded the performance of most of his models. I believe he is currently fighting the EU in court with his main argument being that the test for ratings is flawed due to the fact they test them in a lab with empty cylinders.

Dysons (and their clones) are the only vacuums that clog. The exact opposite of what they claim. They need stripped down and refurbed to return to normal performance.

Thankfully people are now catching on and returning to bagged vacs where to return the performance to 100% you simply replace the bag
Don't do it, but tempted!!

I got an email from Miele suggesting I get a new vacuum quick before the EU law comes into place and reduces all their vacuums to only 900W.
Just purchased from the Cheltenham store! Bargain as was looking at getting of these to sort out the cat hair embedded in the carpet!
We have one of these. It has great suction, but it's like dragging a dead body around. It's so heavy it'll give you a hernia.
I just got one, but don't recall getting a £10 voucher
Thanks OP, bought one of these for a pressie a couple of years ago and was very impressed. Actually thought the 1600w model had been discontinued due to EU law so jumped onto this excellent deal. Going to spend the £10 voucher on a pack of 4 dustbags
Many thanks for this a great bargain
Thanks.

My Miele 5210 has just started to die after 8yrs of use. In fact the kids killed it 🤡🤡🤡

The girlfriend wanted a dyson. Fashion over function in my opinion, so got one of these on order as I'm paying for it and know it to be a superior product.
I have one of these, with 10 cats, I have tried many many hoovers over the years and the miele out performs them all. Best hoover I have ever had.

Thanks OP love this hoover, though it didn't have much suction at first tehn noticed the dial to change power settings lol,can anyone tell me where the best place to get bags for this would be pricewise? And what is the part number for the bags?

Bought one today myself very impressed. After reading reviews only buy genuine Miele bags if you have Amazon Prime I think they're about 8 quid for 4 bags with 2 filters. If not they're about a tenner at Argos

Do these fit all Miele vacuum cleaners or are there different bags/filters for different models?
Thanks
