Isn't this like 2200watt? I swear this is the one I have, but it's not 1200watt. So much better than a Dyson though.

power on vacuum cleaners has been reduced across the board!

Thats dirt cheap! Fantastic cleaners...

Oos... Wanted one just for the turbo brush!

Energy rating G the worst one possible, still an absolute steal

Really frustrating that after registering, it informs you that they don't have enough of this item to fulfil. Yet go back and it claims to still be in stock. Morons.

The tested ratings of this vacuum aren't very good. G for energy rating the lowest and D for carpet performance. Obviously it doesn't have a powered beat bar being a cylinder vacuum so that explains carpet performance. Don't forget you have the expense of bags in future. Not a vacuum for dealing with very dirty environments like workshops etc due to cost of bags.

Performance will drop as the bag fills and remember you don't want bags around for too long as most of household dust is human skin and bags can fill with insects etc eating the skin powder.

Miele are the best of brands for using this older type of bagged vacuum design but personally I feel bagless cyclonic is much better, not necessarily Dyson.

Miele make additional revenue with the sale of bags of which many purchasers will keep to original Miele bags rather than compatibles plus their chinese factory makes most parts excluding the motor I think either for assembly there or in Europe. Older Miele models have more durable plastic and much more powerful motors. Bagged cleaners are generally cheaper than bagless. Where a company makes both bagged and bagless cleaners the bagged is normally lower in the price range. If for no other reason bagless means much less future income especially if the model has permanent washable filters.

So its cheaper than many other retailers but I'm sure Miele could be profitable at a lower price point than this considering the price of competing products. However its not about manufacturing costs its about perceived value in the customer's mind.
