I see these miele vacuum cleaners around quite a lot, are they any good?

The only real -ve on this model, is the cheapo floorhead they supply it with.
It's an easy to cut corner that would fly under the radar for most.

What's the problem with the floorhead?
It's an all plastic affair whereas these things used to have a metal underplate fitted leading to a more robust design. This FibreTeq It's kinda ok as a general purpose combination floorhead with an integrated brush bar that you can retract by stepping on the (Bo)selector.

The vacuum itself, is solid no-nonsense, full 890w powered motor. GN bags, on-board tool storage, 7m lead I think (check on the Miele site which talks about 10 metres cleaning radius). You can customise the level of air filtration depending on your needs. Cat&Dog - anti stink, or Allergy alternative.
Filters and bags can be expensive if you buy at full RRP. Often on deals though, so you need to stock up when that time comes.
It's not glamorous, but it just does the job with the right floorhead.
Stretch hose is well made, fittings all click properly together, stainless steel reach pole.
I thought this said £11 I was like yay and then
I have this hoover. Still going strong after 7 years, minus a few scuffs from skirting board and door frame knocks
Any good on laminate flooring

Good with the parquet twister head. Two sizes:
Miele SBB 300-3 PQ Twister
Miele SBB400-3 Parquet Twister XL Floor Brush
These parquet specific PQ heads feature soft natural bristles so glide gently and smoothly across the floor leaving no marks.

They also do the similar looking Miele SBB 300-3 HF Twister. The HF version features high quality synthetic bristles to remove dust from deep crevices. Probably more suited to tiling, not ideal for wooden floors.

The vacuum itself has more than enough power. The supplied combo floorhead tool is ok-ish, but the Twister heads make vacuuming up wooden/laminate or hard floors a breeze due to the double jointed head.

Copycat of the parquet head here (difference between this and the genuine part, is the way the bristles are mounted into the head.
On the genuine part, the bristles are clamped within a metal assembly which is then push mounted into the plastic head moulding. The cheaper version seems to show the bristles as being embedded directly within the plastic head moulding, so I'm guessing they're synthetic bristles).

OR for even less, there's this generic parquet head here. It features a couple of wheels which doesn't really make sense for using on delicate parquet floors.
