I know this is not for everyone but having my Bosch die on us a couple of days ago (heating element gone after just a couple of years, so much for Bosch build quality) I found this online. Decided to go for it as Comet/Currys/JL all selling for ~£700 and my inlaws have a Miele dishwasher that has been faultless for more than 8 years now and still going strong and cleaning dishes well.

So £585 delivered (additional £20 if you want you old one taken away, same price as our local council charge to collect old white goods) & 5 Year guarantee make this a no brainer

Point to note, the Free 5 year Guarantee is if you purchase by tomorrow, offer seems to have been running since October.

Hope this helps someone.

Free 5 year warranty if you buy before the 31/01/2012

You could get it cheaper if you live near Leicester as PC world or Curry's price match in store and will give you 10% of the difference back!

Great deal - but if your Bosch failed that quickly I think you might well have had a claim for a free repair - two years is not satisfactory quality.
I work for big UK spare parts supplier. Hot Deal, but keep in mind that Miele spare-parts are extortionately expensive compared to other manufacturers (incase it were to break at some point).

But of course if it were to break in the 1st 5 years of ownership then it doesn't matter how much spare parts are

Tried calling up Currys for a price match but they didnt want to know...may have been luck of the draw with the call handler though, and comet only price match argos/ johnlewis/ tesco/ currys/ pcworld and they will be chargin ~ £700 so pointless

They will only price match the instore price and not the web price, as they only price match against the likes of Johnlewis, Tesco etc. That is why I said you need to be within I think it is 30 miles. To be honest the 10% of the difference only works out to be £11 or somethin and is not really worth the hassle.
Siemans for me - almost identical quality to Miele, better than bosch, resonable priced to buy and purchase spares for and had a 5year guarantee. Still a good price for this unit, but out of intrest why not just spend £65 on a new element and swap it out?

I got a bosch paid £400 for it 5 years ago. Wish I bought what my mum had; a Zanuzzi @ £200 far superior washing results. Can't wait for the bosch to break! It sure won't be de "german" model again.

When it comes to home appliances, Bosch and Siemens are the same company - Bosch-Siemens Household Appliances
(http://www.bsh-group.co.uk) co-develop all of their products. I saw a Bosch fridge-freezer recommended in Which? but found a Siemens model on offer £50 cheaper - it was identical to the Bosch in every way except the name.

So Siemens appliances certainly aren't better built than Bosch ones - they're the same appliance built in the same factory.

Really? You're pretty tough on yourself! Do you do your washing in a maiding tub and then wring it out on the mangle, or do you use one of those lazy-peoples automatic washing machines?!
5 years isn't that long. Are the washing machines still 10-15 years?

They've never offered as long for their other appliances at for their washing machines which is shame. The warranty on the washing machines varies according to the model and sometimes whether it's a special offer or not.

Still, 5 years is longer for a dishwasher than any other maker I know offers.

They share parts in the same way to VW / Audi, but they are not identical. And Siemans come with 5years, bosch come with 2 (normally).

Well my Siemens fridge is certainly identical to its Bosch equivalent - I've seen both in the store and they were absolutely identical even on minor details such as the handles, shelves etc. My Siemens also came with a 2-year warranty not a 5-year one, so they're no more confident in it than the Bosch equivalent. Mine was also £50 cheaper than the Bosch equivalent, so I'd be surprised if they used better materials in it only to charge £50 less for it.

Still if you're right then I got a real bargain so cheers! I'm very happy with it anyway!

If my Bosch machine element went I would buy a new one for £30 odd and fit it not fork out another £500!
