Brill, this has dropped to £349 on Hughes main site with code 50OFF which is beating their eBay price with the new code. I do have to say this post is down to @devinn who had posted it for Hughes eBay earlier, so can't take full credit it here!

All Miele Fridges/Freezers are made by Liebherr, they are exactly identical bar a few minor changes to the fascias. I would take a look and compare. I managed to pick up the Liebherr equivalent of the Miele for £300 less when I was looking.

I would swap my Hisense for this.

thanks for posting, our fridge freezer is about to die!

With less ice you need less defrosting. Using the integrated all-round evaporator unit, ice build-up considerably reduced to minimise the need for defrosting.

ah, not frost free but almost frost free?

never heard of Hughes so looked at a couple of reviews - this one made me laugh:

This item has NOT BEEN DELIVERED we have waited in all day the allocation time slut was between 15.30 & 17.30. It is now 20.00 and have had no communication from the carrier. I have in mind to cancel the purchase and demand a full refund.

Are you sure? I’m not an expert but found this on line:

“Against popular belief, Liebherr do not make Miele’s refrigeration products. However, both brands are made in the same factory which is jointly owned by the Liebherr and Miele families, but the products are made to the individual companies specifications.”

I only mention the above because I’m a big fan of Miele washing machines - have 2 - and one is over 10 years old now and I think that’s good considering it’s in a 5 bed HMO
KD 28032 EDO is not a Frost Free model (Not to be confused with frost free KFN models)

KD 28032 EDO model no. listed in miele instruction manual on page 74
miele.co.uk/pme…pdf
Defrosting instructions on page 48.

I got the Samsung for 304 when they had 20 percent off on ebay. I think its much better. 5 year Samsung warranty, frost free, bigger capacity and comes with a water dispenser.
Not frost free means this deal is cold surely 😁
There is a downside to frost free. More prone to early breakdown.

I am sure, they bought an old German factory in 1954 and expanded from making cranes into refrigeration as an opportunity. They also make commercial units which Miele do not, they also make the commercial branded fridges you see in store for Pepsi etc.

As with regards to subtle differences I am sure you will find them. Ultimately it is down to cost and preference on the design and features. No different to picking Bosch, Neff, Siemens or Gaggenau (or anything else they make Pitsos included (YUK))

Isn't Miele supposed to be a high end brand? I can remember when their stuff cost £1000s

Check out their home laundry appliances. They still cost thousands.

Some do. Some don't. They vary a lot in price, and frequently the base model is much the same as one that's much more expensive but with fewer programmes etc - and that's sometimes just in the firmware.
Any idea if the code works on others? Can’t see it on the site and looking for one a bit cheaper.

This costs £349, so how much would the Liebherr equivalent be?

I doubt there is one, but if there were it would probably be more. Liebherr make excellent refrigeration products but they’re not cheap.
Thanks Op! Also I took a paypal credit with no fee so will pay 29.08 monthly

Liebherr make Pitsos? I have used their products for most of my life and had their products last for decades. If I could find them in the shops I would buy them again in a heartbeat.
