i assume you can get non branded bags but they like the real thing
The replacement bags can get quite expensive, but there's perfectly good knock off bags available via your local, generic auction website.
only if you use it!
Yes, the third-party bags are identical, I don't see how they could fail to be; they are just bags after all.
Otherwise we've had our Miele Cat & Dog for at least 8 years, and it still great. We too had a Dyson before that, a DC03 if I remember correctly... It was god awful, top heavy, so would tip over with the slightest breeze, the handle broke off twice, belt broke and eventually the killer was the power cable fracturing inside! we can't of had it more than 3 years!
So time to give Miele a go !! especially at this price !!!!
thx OP
HEAT
Not In my case, Had Miele and after 18 months the motor give up ......... cost £150 and a new motor was £130 bought a DC24 and its still going strong after 5 years!
Mieles are fantastic vacuums, as several people have said above. We've had ours 7 years now and it is still mint, my parents have had theirs over 10 years and it's never failed them either.
All Miele vacs come with a 2 year guarantee as standard like Bosch... should have been free!
Just had a look on eBay and I can see all the parts from my DC14 Animal and make the money back on this so not all bad at all - especially considering I got the Dyson for free when I worked at Comet years ago!
Thanks OP
My wife is very sensitive to dust and asthmatic and say that the 3rd party bugs give out dust while the Miele made ones are perfectly sealed. It cost me an arm and a leg in bugs but we did gave the 3rd party a go.
(single dad getting excited about vacuum cleaners d'oh)
This was 5 years ago, paperwork said 12 months
I was tempted to point this out as well.
The bags are large capacity, so you can fit a lot of muck in them! I had a deal for 5 year extended warranty - £19 per year including 2 boxes of Miele bags per year. I guess I don't use the vacuum enough because I still have loads left at the end of the 5 years! (Vacuum never missed a beat...)
I would never go back to the Dyson method of emptying the dust. These bags seal the dust & dirt in pretty well, which is great if you have allergies. You also are supposed to replace the filters regularly - these are supplied with each box of dustbags, or, you can get the more expensive HEPA type.
But the Miele bags are ridic price.... anyone have a link to alternatives that they can suggest?
Hot!
Mine lasted that long too, i've heard the later models are not quite as good and the price of them is quite ridiculous so i went for a henry, i would buy this otherwise.
Got the wife 7 years ago and the sucking lasted nowhere near 7 years
