+1

You can often get these for around £120 so this is a good deal. Never seen them for £200. We have a Miele and its the best cleaner we have had, certainly better than our Dyson. Miele used to do a deal where you could extend the warranty for a reasonable fee - may be worth asking about when you register.

I am not a hoover expert sorry but would I need to buy replacement bags etc for this now and again?

Seems like a great Hoover but obsolete everywhere

my girlfriends folks have got a miele hoover simliar to this and its a fab hoover but we went to buy them some replacement bags for it and almost fell over and how much they were.

i assume you can get non branded bags but they like the real thing

Had a Miele for a while and it's a great vacuum cleaner. Bought our current one after going through about 3 Dysons within a couple of years.

The replacement bags can get quite expensive, but there's perfectly good knock off bags available via your local, generic auction website.

only if you use it!

This vacuum cleaner sucks.

Got the 4210 Miele 7 years ago still sucks as good as it did when I bought it. You do need bags but there not that expensive and are available everywhere. Great price!

bags on ebay at reasonable price

Yes, the third-party bags are identical, I don't see how they could fail to be; they are just bags after all.

Otherwise we've had our Miele Cat & Dog for at least 8 years, and it still great. We too had a Dyson before that, a DC03 if I remember correctly... It was god awful, top heavy, so would tip over with the slightest breeze, the handle broke off twice, belt broke and eventually the killer was the power cable fracturing inside! we can't of had it more than 3 years!

our dyson has just about had it ,, sprays dust everywhere !!

So time to give Miele a go !! especially at this price !!!!

thx OP

Not In my case, Had Miele and after 18 months the motor give up ......... cost £150 and a new motor was £130 bought a DC24 and its still going strong after 5 years!

Not long bought an upright Hoover. First time out I chopped into the cable. THE worst vacuum cleaner we have ever owned. I would love to smash it to bits and get this.

Just to be pedantic THIS IS NOT A HOOVER!!!! as the OP says it's a vacuum cleaner.

Mieles are fantastic vacuums, as several people have said above. We've had ours 7 years now and it is still mint, my parents have had theirs over 10 years and it's never failed them either.

All Miele vacs come with a 2 year guarantee as standard like Bosch... should have been free!

Bought, I have an old DC14 which "accidentally" broke the other day - by my girlfriend.

Just had a look on eBay and I can see all the parts from my DC14 Animal and make the money back on this so not all bad at all - especially considering I got the Dyson for free when I worked at Comet years ago!

Thanks OP

We have two!! (one for each floor) an old 4280 and a 8210 I think.

My wife is very sensitive to dust and asthmatic and say that the 3rd party bugs give out dust while the Miele made ones are perfectly sealed. It cost me an arm and a leg in bugs but we did gave the 3rd party a go.

Excellent deal for a great make.

I have one of these and it's epic
(single dad getting excited about vacuum cleaners d'oh)

This was 5 years ago, paperwork said 12 months

I paid extra for a 10 year guarantee - it was £30 I think - seemed like a good deal but I'm not sure if they still offer this

My Dyson is still going strong after 5 years, and its nice that they come with a 5 year guarantee. But anyway, heat added for this deal.

I was tempted to point this out as well.

The bags are large capacity, so you can fit a lot of muck in them! I had a deal for 5 year extended warranty - £19 per year including 2 boxes of Miele bags per year. I guess I don't use the vacuum enough because I still have loads left at the end of the 5 years! (Vacuum never missed a beat...)
I would never go back to the Dyson method of emptying the dust. These bags seal the dust & dirt in pretty well, which is great if you have allergies. You also are supposed to replace the filters regularly - these are supplied with each box of dustbags, or, you can get the more expensive HEPA type.

Great posting but just tried to order and is OS.....

This vacuum is so much better than my previous (Dyson may I hasten to add).
But the Miele bags are ridic price.... anyone have a link to alternatives that they can suggest?

Why would you put a low quality bag in a high quality vacuum cleaner? Just pay the extra few bob tight wads!

Owner of a Miele after owning a dyson. Much better cleaner although the expensive bags fill quickly. The pattern bags are simply not as good as the OE. I now labouriously empty my bag and are ready to go again.
Hot!

Amazing the amount of people call vacuum cleaners "Hoovers" its pretty much the same with "sellotape" and the amount of people calling all ereaders "kindles" and tablets "iPads"

Go here for extended warranty miele.co.uk/pro…-E- xtended-Vacuum-Cleaner-Warranty/ - it's £50 at the moment and gives you an extra 8 years on the top of their standard 2. I've had Miele for last 6 years after having all of the other big brands previously. Quality and performance are second to none, and if they do go wrong (mine did) the Customer Service is fantastic. Bags are expensive, but always worth getting Miele's own, they often have 20% off on their site.

Hmm our Dyson has been going 12 years... maybe we are the exception... so is this really better than a Dyson?

Mine lasted that long too, i've heard the later models are not quite as good and the price of them is quite ridiculous so i went for a henry, i would buy this otherwise.

Out of stock...
