    Don't buy Miele.
Miele has some nice quality features but Miele is not immune from the vulnerabilities found in other machines and YOU will pay over the odds for replacements. For example, the control panel. I had a Machine bought 6 years ago, equivalent to this one and Miele were wanting £290 for a replacement adding £110 call out charge plus time. You can see why Miele are unecconomical.
Maybe, a Miele machine of twenty years ago would last 20 years but they are now much the same as the rest but with a gold plated price tag.

Samsung eco bubble at £350 has five year warranty, if Milele were so fantastic how come they only offer a 5 year warranty? Double the price but not double the confidence in their own products.

Our Miele has been going strong for 20 years now! Does 4 full loads a week and has never failed us. Hot!

I got the most expensive model last month, still the same price - £1199, but says it has £200 off, so a bit of a non sale in my eyes. I used a £40 code plus £35 TCB tracked plus with the co-op loyalty card, may get £24 back if they give 2%. Also paid with my tesco creidt card, so earned £23 in deals, So will have cost me £1100, but mine has the 10 year warranty, that's what swayed me to pay more.

The 1600 spin is super quiet

Thought this was a lot to pay for a washing machine but after reading your comments it may not be so bad after all. So some heat from me.

Just to add an alternate view... our Miele washer/dryer has died after five years. Apparently the fault is not uncommon, and because Mile use their own engineers and don't have common parts with other brands a repair will be prohibitively expensive. Five years is a good life, but £-per-year still more expensive than other brands. We'll be replacing it with something like a Bosch, and will not be buying Miele again.

Still voting hot due to price, mind!

My Miele dishwasher is nowhere as good as cleaning as the old AEG (made in Germany) it replaced. I dont care how long the thin lasts it just doesnt clean as well.

Best buy from Which?. In summary:
"Pros: Outstanding cleaning, good spin dry efficiency, easy to use and delay start capability
Cons: Noisy spin, no time-remaining display"

    £658 is a good price.

Maybe worth adjusting the salt and rinse aid amount, made a huge difference to ours

Had the same problem, solved it by using a hotter wash.
I think its sensor wash was too cool. Either you use expensive tablets which will work ok at lower temp or you use standard tabs on a hotter wash.
    No problem since.

Look, all I'm interested in is fair play. I bought one of these products which is supposedly capable of lasting 20 years and I'm faced with a repair bill of £400 plus if they repair it. I'm also qualified to degree level in electronics if that helps. I'll fix the board myself. Additionally, if you look at the forums you will see similar, dissatisfied people.

And I never read such undeserved praise of an over-priced, mediocre product. By the same token, you could be a Miele shill blowing their undeserved trumpet?

If you can lift them they are fine, transit bolts are located on the rear of the machine - ours weighs 86Kgs, just remember it's cast iron weight inside not a breeze block.

    How about Siemens?

I recently bought a Siemens washing machine that came with a 5 year guaranteeThere's an awful lot of models when you choose washing machine from the drop down menu, then look at model numbers.

At the time I believed it was only certain models that had the free 5 year guarantee

I know the Samsung Ecobubble is rated better than the Miele, Bosch, Siemens etc according to Which magazine

I bought one for £314, and it murders the Siemen that i had!
